I looked at her waiting for her to say something. I looked at my hands then at her.

"You know every time I see you I wonder if you'll actually speak" Carmen looked a bit annoyed. I shrugged, "how has life been? I haven't seen you in a few weeks"

"Work is the same, stressful, infuriating, annoying. I still get pissed off at everyone and everything most times." She nodded and wrote things down.

"Have you been writing?"

"No, I have no time for that, I practically live and breathe work. I have no time for anything."

"Friends?"

"Nope"

"Kendall?" I didn't expect the mention of her name would make my stomach twist. I looked down fighting the urge to grin. "How is she?"

"She's good" I wonder what she'll wear tonight for the date. A dress? Skirt?

"So you've been talking to her lately?" I nodded. I'm seeing Kendall in 2 hours, that's really soon. "How is it going with her?"

"She's um-she's like a breath of fresh air"

"Do you see her often?" I nodded then thought about it.

"No, I would like to see her more often but I only see her once a week or once every 2 weeks, lately I've been seeing more of her.....she's the type of girl where you have to fight her to pay for something, she likes eating pizza on the floor too. Isn't that strange? Eating on the floor? I like eating on a table, it's clean. She also smells like vanilla and cotton candy, it's very sweet but i like it, I haven't smelled someone like that ever. She likes movies too and she paints. She's a really good painter, I bought one of her pieces, she got mad at me for it, but I bought it because I liked it. I like the way she is, it's comforting in a way" Carmen smiled and shut the notebook.

"When are you seeing Kendall again?"

"Today actually, I asked her to dinner last weekend, she said yes"

"How do you feel about that?" I bit my lip softly trying hard not to show the emotions.

"Good"

"Oh come on I can see it in the way you are squeezing your hands and biting your lip, tell me"

"I'm-I" I looked down feeling myself grin "I don't know what to expect."

"Where are you taking her?"

"It's a restaurant where you can see San Francisco's view and it's good Italian food." I looked at the clock noticing that it was already 6:45.

"Are you nervous?" I shook my head, she squinted her eyes in disbelief.

"I don't know, I've never really wanted a relationship, I never wanted to actually see someone so badly like this. It's strange. Really strange." She giggled and stood up.

"I hope you find what your looking for Nicolas" I stand up not really knowing what I'm looking for. "I'll see you next week?"

"Hopefully" I start walking out the door towards the exit of the building. I'm going to see her tonight. Is she nervous? Excited? Happy? Sad ? I hope she isn't sad. I would hate if she was sad.

I drove home quickly to start getting ready. It was already 7:32 and I wasn't even ready. I got in the shower rinsing off all the work stress and annoyance. I couldn't stop thinking of tonight, what's going to happen? Will it go well? What's she going to wear?
