I stirred the hot coffee slowly, letting the milk mix into the actual coffee. It was so satisfying to watch the hot drink just turn all into a lighter color.
I grabbed my phone from the counter checking if there was going to be any actual notifications on my phone. There were mostly emails....sadly. That was until the screen changed, my mom was calling me. I haven't talked to her in ages so I immediately picked up.
"Hi mom!" I said smiling out of happiness and excitement.
"Hello honey! How are you? I haven't spoken to you in so long! Catch me up" she also sounded very excited to hear of me.
"I'm good, everything here is amazing, I miss you so much! I hope you can come visit me" she let out a small laugh
"Oh honey, I miss you too. I will definitely be coming during summer..... So tell me what's new?" I bit my lip not knowing if I should tell her. I probably should.
"Well mom, many things have happened-" I immediately got cut off by her squealing.
"You're pregnant!"i let out a loud laugh.
"Yes mom I'm pregnant" I said sarcastically, she let out a groan. "No I'm not but.... I met someone" she let out a even bigger squeal then before, I smiled to myself feeling my whole body just heat up and get a random jolt of energy.
"Oh my goodness who is the lucky man?"
"Well do you remember the boy next door that i told you about?" I say, hearing her gasp "well I'm his girlfriend" I couldn't help but giggle at the word girlfriend. The last thing I thought of myself finding here is a guy that wants me to be his girlfriend.
"Oh Kenny, I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to meet him...is he there with you?"
"No, he's at work right now, I haven't seen him since Friday but we've been texting each other making sure we're both alive and well"
"Oh come on Kendall, stop talking like a grandma, I know he's there I'm no fool"
"Mom I swear, he's at work." I say looking at the round clock on the wall "Speaking about work, I have to get going to my work"
"Okay, well I love you hon, please be careful. I miss you tons!"
"I love and miss you too! Bye-bye" I pressed the end call button and shook of the anxious feeling. I walked up the wooden stairs to my room to start getting ready for work. I love and hate Mondays. I love it because you know a new day full of amazing things but I hate it because new projects and getting bossed around like always.
I tugged a white knitted sweater over my shoulders that kept me pretty warm with some thrifted mom jeans from the 80s which I've very proud of finding. I brushed my long dark brown hair making sure it looks silky smooth and did my make up not wanting to look fully dead.
I looked at the weather app on my phone making sure that I'm dressed appropriately, good thing is that I was, bad thing is that it might rain a little. I love the rain but my hair is not water proof nor is my clothes. I shrugged it off grabbing my purse to begin heading out.

I quickly ran into Chris' small office that reek's of pachouli, my nostrils were dying a bit. I stood there waiting for him to stop playing some random game on his computer.
