Alex and I reached to the flower shop only to see it in ashes. The firefighters said they couldn't find any survivors.
Alex clenched his fist in anger. I couldn't see his face due to his mask but I could see his brown eye were burning with rage.
"I can't believe this. They killed him. They really did." I sobbed.
"Milady! Wolf!" We turned around and saw Adrien in his Chat Noir persona. His black leather jumpsuit was replaced by a long sleeved bodysuit and black and white sneakers. His hood covered his blond hair and his black mask.
"Kitty. They killed him." I replied whilst hugging him.
"Who? Who did they kill?" He replied as he stroking my hair.
"Fu Wang. Shadow Spade and Chloe killed Fu and burned down the flower shop." Alex replied bitterly.
Adrien's eyes widened
"Chloe? She's back? But she was in New York. With her mother."
"Not anymore, she said that her mother disowned her for taking part in Hawkmoth's reign over Paris. Then she hired a hacker to hack into her mother's bank account and drain almost all her money. She brought back the missing members of the Spade Clan and broke Shadow Spade out of jail." Alex said with a bitter tone.
"Damn. I saw this when I was on my way to see you." Adrien replied as he gave me a newspaper.
The headline says: The Spade King and Antibug team up!? The institute destroyed. Half a dozen guards dead or injured.
"Mon Dieu." I gasped.
"Shit just got real. We better watch our backs." Alex replied.
"I'll tell Nino and Alya about this in the morning. Without a doubt, they'll be next." Adrien said.
"I'd better get home. I'm pretty beat up." Alex said.
"Wait. You can stay at my house until the morning." Adrien announced.
"Alright. I'll let my godfather know that I'm staying over at a friends house." Alex nodded.
"My parents are away on a business trip. And I'm not safe alone." I said.
"You can come to, Milady." Adrien replied with a smile.
Adrien POV
We reached to the Agreste Manor and went straight to my bedroom.
"Claws in." I said and transformed back into my civilian attire.
"Spots off." Marinette did the same.
Alex took off his trench coat went to the bathroom.
"I'm going to take a shower if you don't mind." He said.
I nodded and sat on my bed.
6 months ago, we defeated my father and his minions. Even after I disowned him, my heart still aches after hearing his suicide. Ever since our identities have been revealed to the whole world, it has been nothing but constant paparazzi and interviews. I rarely see Alex during school and after school. I fear that our personal lives have strained our friendship. Every time we try to catch up, photographers intercept us.
"Yeah. I guess I'm irrelevant. I'll let you be." Alex would say before disappearing into the crowd.
"Are you ok, Chaton." Marinette asked me.
I looked up and saw her wearing a white t shirt and pink shorts. Her hair is at shoulder length.
I blushed. "Y-yeah. I liked the new look as Ladybug."
"T-thanks. You too." She replied with her cheeks turning red.
We sat next to each other in silence.
"I guess we'll have to go back to our superhero life, huh." I said.
"Yeah. It has been six months since we disbanded." My princess replied as she rested her head against my shoulder. "I can't believe that Master Fu is gone. And Chloe out of all people was the one behind this."
"We'll see to it that Chloe and Shadow Spade will be brought to justice. It's what Master Fu would've wanted us to do." I replied as I kissed her forehead. "For now, let's get some sleep."
Marinette nodded and crawled onto the bed. I lay on my side and wrapped my arms around her.
"Bonne nuit, Milady." I said as I kissed her nape.
"Bonne nuit, Chaton." She replied with a smile.
And with that, we went to sleep.
Alex POV.
After a nice long shower, I wore my grey t shirt and black boxer shorts. I saw the two lovebirds snuggling in the bed. I sighed and went to lie on the couch. I heard my phone ring and answered.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Alex. I just got back from work. I went to your apartment and you're not in your room. Where are you?" My godfather Joseph asked me.
"I'm at Agreste Manor. Just got jumped by Chloe Bourgeois and the Spade King." I replied as I rubbed my injured stomach.
"Oh Merde! Are you alright!?" Joseph asked.
"Just dandy." I replied gruffly. "I'm going to school with them so I'll see you in the afternoon."
"Alright. You take care of yourself, Filleul."He said.
"Yeah. You too, Oncle." I said and hung up.
I sighed and closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.
