Chapter 4: The Wounded Wolf

Marinette POV

It has been 6 months ever since we defeated Hawkmoth, who is none other than Gabriel Agreste, and his allies. Matthew is behind bars and Chloe is in New York. Adrien and I are finally dating, Sabrina and Lukas are also dating and Paris is finally at peace. While I do appreciate the fact that we don't have to worry about the Akumas, there are days that I do miss patrolling in the night with my Chaton and my friends.

However, I also miss Alex. He and I do not talk very often. He goes straight to his part time job after lessons and I always see him patrolling Paris alone. 

Tonight, I was heading home after a visit to Adrien's house. At the moment, his father's assistant, Nathalie is taking over his business until Adrien is of age to take over. Until I saw two figures running on the rooftops. It was too dark to see their face. I decided to follow them.

As soon as I reached to the Eiffel Tower, I saw the two silhouettes  fighting  one another. Until the third came and defeated one of them easily. 

"The French Miraculous Team will stop you." One of them croaked.

"Ridiculous! Utterly Ridiculous! Those losers won't know what will hit them." The figure replied as they kicked the other silhouette off the roof and into an alleyway. 

I instantly recognised the voice. Chloe! But wasn't she in New York after her sentence concluded? Why would she come back to Paris? I ran into the alleyway and saw the wounded individual. 

"Alex!?" I shouted as I approached him and removed his mask. His hazel hair was covered in blood and dirt from the fight. His light brown eyes glanced weakly at me. His trench coat was covered in blood. 

"Help me." He croaked as he slipped into unconsciousness.

I quickly picked him up and carried him to my house. Thankfully, my parents are away on a business trip, so I don't have to enter my room via the balcony. I placed Alex on my bed and stripped off his trench coat, backpack and Kevlar t shirt and grabbed a first aid kit from my desk. 

"I don't think he'll make it, Marinette." My kwami, Tikki, said with a worried look on her face.

"He will. He's going to get through this." I replied as I grabbed an antiseptic cloth and cleaned the stomach wound. I quickly stitched up the wound and wrapped  bandages around his stomach. I also placed a clean cloth on his forehead. 

"All we have to do is wait." I said as I sat on my chair.

"Please, wake up." Tikki added as she looked down at Alex's unconscious face.

This is going to be a long night.

Alex POV

I opened my eyes and found myself in a bedroom with pink walls and clothing designs. I looked over to my left and saw Marinette sleeping on her desk. She changed her look over the past 6 months. She no longer had pigtails but now has shoulder length hair.

"You're awake!" I looked up only to see Tikki hugging my cheek.

"Umm. Hi?" I replied weakly.

Marinette opened her eyes and saw me.

"Oh thank God you're awake!" She exclaimed as she hugged me tightly. I winced but returned the hug.

"Tell me what happened to you." She said as she pulled away and stared at me.

I sighed and told her everything. She sat on the bed with tears in her eyes.

"I can't believe that Chloe would do this. I mean I can but-" She replied with a shake of her head.

"And get this. The Spade King, No, Shadow Spade has the Butterfly Miraculous."

"Then that would mean-." Tikki gasped.

Marinette changed to Ladybug. Her iconic red and black spotted suit was replaced with a red and black top with a matching short skirt, black boots, a black scarf and matching fingerless gloves. Her mask and yoyo still remain the same from 6 months ago. 

"Love the new look." I chuckled.

"Merci." She replied. "I'm going to find Master Fu. You wait here." 

"No. I'm going with you." I crawled off the bed and took out a grey shirt and black sweater. 

"But-" Ladybug replied

"I'm not asking. I'm going. With or without your permission." I replied sternly as I put on my t- shirt and sweater.

"Alright. Follow me." She sighed as she jumped off the balcony and swung from building to building.

I got up, put on my trench coat and backpack and followed her to Fu's Flower Shop.

"Fu. I hope you're ok."
