Chapter 17: Rena Rouge Vs Demon Dragon

Alya POV

I ran from rooftop to rooftop, dodging the gunfire from the helicopter. I didn't think that Lila would call for reinforcements. As I left the school, a helicopter came out of nowhere and ambushed me. I manage to fight of the gunmen but the helicopter is still hot on my tail. I jumped across the gaps and swung from on building to the next  with my grapple gun. I thought I was in the clear until I narrowly dodged a fire ball launched at me. I landed on a roof with a roll and saw my attacker. A women wearing a black and red jumpsuit and a black demon mask covering her face. I looked closer and recognised her hair.

"Kagami?" I gasped.

"No. It's Demon Dragon." She replied as she pointed her sword and shouted "インフェルノ!(Inferno!)"

I jumped of the roof as a wave of flames splashed in my direction. I rolled onto the road and found myself surrounded by gunmen. Demon Dragon landed in front of me and swung her sword at me. I pulled out my staff and parried the strike. We entered a sword lock.

"What happened to you!? I thought you fight against injustice, not for them." I asked.

"You are the injustice that plagues Paris. As is your friend, Wolf." She replied as she pushed me back. I regained my footing and parried the sword strike again and struck her torso. She stepped back and  chanted "火炎放射器! (Flamethrower!") I dodged, causing some of the gunmen to get burnt. I looked away as the flames burned them to a crisp. I parried another sword strike and struck her in the head. Demon Dragon staggered as I snapped a kick at her hand, knocking the sword out of her hand. She looked at me as I pointed my staff at her. 

"This isn't you, Kagami. I know you're in there." I pleaded.

"The Kagami you speak of is gone." She replied as she swept me of my feet. I landed on my back and felt the tip of her blade touch my throat. "Now. You die." She swung her sword at me.

"MIRAGE!" I shouted as I faded into orange mist. 

"What? Where did she-!" Demon Dragon looked around .I jumped from the roof and kicked her in the back of the head, knocking her out. I picked up her sword and snapped it in half, releasing  the akuma. Demon Dragon turned into Ryuko. She got back up and shook her head.

"What happened? Alya? Is that you?" She asked. I hugged her tightly. 

"I'm glad you're ok. Now as much as I would want to explain things to you, we don't have the time. We need to find Alex and Nino." I replied.

Kagami nodded and followed me to the Eiffel Tower.
