Chapter 10: The Wolf Uncaged

Alex POV

I sat in my cell, staring at the wall.  It's been 6 weeks ever since the whole of Paris, and the world,  knows that I am The Vigilante. Bet all the criminals want me dead. I was wearing a grey jumpsuit, a black t shirt and black trainers. I heard the television blare in the back.

"Mayor Bourgeois was a soft and weak willed mayor. It was easy for me to take his place as the new mayor of Paris. Anyone who supports Le Loup will be punished." I head Shadow Spade announce on the News. I stiffened. Shadow Spade is the new mayor!?  I can't stay here. I have to stop Shadow Spade and put an end to his tyranny. I heard the door open and saw Lt Raincomprix in front of the cell entrance. He gave me a box containing a black hoodie, a black mask and dark blue jeans. 

"Go. Get out of here before anyone sees you." He said.   

"Why are you helping me? I thought you work for him?" I asked.

"Despite everything, I'm not the type of guy who serves tyrants." He replied. "Now go. I'll tell them that you escaped. Your friends are waiting for you."

I nodded  asked Roger to stand  outside before changing. After I changed my clothes, I shook his hand and left.

"Alex! Save my daughter!" He called after me.

I turned around and replied "You have my word, Lieutenant." With that, I tug the hood over my head, put on my mask and exited the station via the window. I saw Nino and Alya standing outside. 

"Alya? Nino? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Helping you. Now lets go." Alya said as she and Nino sneaked to the exit. I followed them.

After we hid from the police in the alleyway, I took of my mask and asked "What the hell is going on? How is Shadow Spade the mayor of Paris?" 

Alya and Nino exchanged looks then looked back at me.

"Well..." Alya began.
