Joseph POV
I just returned from work and decided to have a shower and watch some TV. I switched the channels until I saw the news.
"Don't be bemused, it's just the news! We have reports of a high speed chase that includes The Vigilante chasing after a black van. While we do not know the identity of the driver-." Nadja Chamack
. I heard my phone ring. I picked it up and answered.
"Hello?" I asked.
"You're a dead man." A voice answered. He hung up.
I quickly raced to my bedroom and pulled out a pistol from under my bed. A Desert Eagle, Toby's favourite sidearm. He gave it to me when I left the NYPD as memento to remember him by. I heard the front door crash open. I peered from the staircase and saw a group men dressed in black and armed with suppressed MPS submachine guns. I opened my draw and took out a bulletproof vest, some flash grenades and 5 ammo clips.
I took a deep breath and checked the magazine of my pistol before firing a few shots at the gunmen. Some backed away and fired their SMGs at me . I dived behind cover. I noticed that my phone started ringing. I picked it up and answered.
""Uncle! Call the cops! I'm chasing after a black van with a grey licence plate and no numbers. They have Marinette and Adrien. We're just about to pass The Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie !" Alex shouted. I nodded and alerted the police using my work phone and told them about the kidnapping and the chase scene.
"Alright! The cops are on their way! Try to slow the down until they get there." I replied as I ducked behind, dodging the bullets.
"Uncle?" He asked
"Don't worry about me! Just focus on helping your friends!" I shouted as I fired a few more bullets , killing two gunmen.
"Alright." He replied as I hung up.
I tossed a flash grenade at them, temporally blinding them. I vaulted over the sofa and fired my Deagle at them, killing all five of them. I sighed until I felt a sharp prick in my neck. I looked behind me and saw a woman dressed in a purple and black jumpsuit with a matching mask inject a sedative in my neck.
"Lights out." She said with a smirk.
I collapsed onto the ground and passed out.
