That was traumatic.
Meeting Aydan again after five years and him, demanding to see my child, is kind of traumatic that I almost quit my job.
Nakakagalit.
"If it risks your mental health and Mira's then quit. Don't think about me, Amara. What's important is your peace of mind," Joanne comforted me when I told her about what happened.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
It is Mira over anything and anyone.
"I am sure. I will call Kalvin too.
"Where are you?" he asked the moment I pick-up the call.
"Joem kasi—." I began but he cut off my words immediately.
"You need to be here now, Nurse Amara. We are understaffed and there's a surge of patients today!"
"Pero resigned na ako."
"Resigned? Kapapasok mo palang resigned na agad."
"Nagpasa na ako ng resignation letter kanina," I said.
"Kanina lang? Hindi pa yan na-a-approve. We need you here!"
"Per—." He cut off my words again.
"Look, I don't care whatever your reason is. But you have to be here now. A lot of people were injured from the fire that happened near the hospital. This is a life and death situation, please be professional." He said before hanging up.
I asked my dad to drive me to work.
"My colleague called, Dad.
"Do I have to wait for you?" Dad asked after reaching the hospital. It only took us half an hour to reach the hospital.
I immediately shook my head. "Hindi na, Dad. You can go home now. Thanks for the ride." I answered and kissed him on the cheek.
"Alright. Take care, 'kay? Call me if he bothers you again. I will go here and pick you up," he said.
I nodded and smiled at my father. "I will," I answered. "Bye, Dad. Take care."
