"Doc Aydan," Head Nurse called him. Tumango naman siya rito.
"Can you give us a second, Head Nurse. I want to talk to her," he said.
I immediately turned to the Head Nurse to show my objection but she was already standing.
"Alright. You two must talk; you both need that," she said before finally leaving us.
I stood as well and prepared myself for leaving. But Aydan was too fast to stop me. He was holding me on my elbow.
I immediately jerked away from him, taking three steps backwards. "We have nothing to talk about, Dr. Claveria." I said.
Bakit kailangan naming mag-usap.
"Nothing to talk about? Really? Is that why you're resigning, huh? Ganyan ka katakot na makasama ako sa isang lugar kaya handang-handa kang talikuran ang pangarap mo para lang makalayo sa akin?" He said, pinning me to the wall behind me.
I tried pushing him away but he was stronger than the force I was able to do. "Let me go, Dr. Claveria. We don't have anything to talk about and you don't have any rights to question my decisions. Hindi naman kita kaano-ano."
I said but he just smirked at me.
"Hindi kaano-ano. Talaga? Sigurado ka?" he said, still with those annoying smirk. "Amara, we're married. We parent a kid; we have a daughter."
"We were married," I corrected him, putting emphasis on the tense of the verb used. "We have been annulled for five years already, may I remind you. Giving you no rights to me and to anything that is related to me."
Aydan's smirk grew wider, he even had the guts to touch my chin and lift it. "You should check your civil status again, Mrs. Claveria. Hindi ko natatandaang pumayag ako sa annulment na sinasabi mo."
"What the fuck are you say-."
I wasn't able to finish my sentence when his lips crashed to mine, cutting my words mid-sentence.
He kissed me.
"You are still my wife, Amara Maureen. And you will always be. Now, I want you and our baby back," he said as he was looking straight into my eyes. He said that as if it was an easy thing; as if he didn't do wrong to me and to his daughter.
So shameless.
"How dare you!" I shouted at him, pushing him. But to no avail, my force still didn't move him. So, my hand flew to his face. I slapped him.
"You annulled me! You chose your fucking career over me and your own child!"
I shouted more. Matagal kong kinimkim to; matagal akong nagtiis.
"I never annulled you, Amara. I never signed a damn paper that will separate us. I can't do that. I can't lose you," he said and when I was about to slap him again, he caught my arms.
I laughed without humor.
"Don't bullshit me, Aydan Elliot! You were there. You attended the hearing and I received the verdict of our annulment. We got annulled. You fucking choose this..." I pointed at him, the version of him that was standing in front of me. "Over your own family. Over your own child that wasn't even born! Tingin mo anong mararamdaman niya paglaki niya at nalaman niya kung paano siya inayawan ng tatay niya? Kung paanong ginusto siyang ipalaglag ng mismong ama niya? Isipin mo kung gaano kasakit yun para sa kanya. Isipin mo kung paano mawawasak ang puso niya dahil dun!"
