"Nurse Amara," Joem called me. Lumapit naman agad ako sa kanya.
"Bakit?" I asked.
"Dr. Claveria is asking for you. He is in his office," he said.
Agad namang kumunot ang aking noo. "Bakit daw?" tanong ko ulit.
Joem shrugged. "HIndi sinabi," sagot niya. Napabuntong hiniga na lang ako bago tumango.
This will be the first time we will be meeting each other again after three weeks. Three weeks na simula noong huli kaming nag-usap.
It was either, he will force me to come back to him or he will threaten me to take Mari away from me.
That idiot.
But to my shock, he wasn't alone there. My eyes widened upon recognizing who was there, smiling warmly to me. I turned to look at Aydan but he was arching his brow to me.
Damn it!
I composed myself and tried to be calmed. Pinormal ko ang sarili bago muling bumaling sa bisita niya.
"Good morning po," I greeted his mother. I felt a warm hand touched my heart upon seeing her again. Ang tagal na rin simula noong huli ko siyang nakita at ang makita siya ngayon sa harap ko ay nagdadala ng maraming alaala.
Tumayo naman ito tapos ay sinalubong ako ng mahigpit na yakap. "I am so happy to see you again, Amara. Miss na miss kita, anak."
She said, kissing me on my left cheek. I returned the hug and smiled at her. "I miss you too, Mama. How have you been? Sinusunod niyo parin po ba ang bilin ng mga doktor niyo?" I asked, worried about her health condition.
She nodded and smiled more. "I'm good, anak. You have nothing to worry about, I am really healthy."
"I'm glad to hear po," I answered.
Another good thing about marrying Aydan was his mother. She was so kind and thoughtful. She accepted and treated me like her own daughter even before Aydan and I got married. And that was also the reason why I was so heartbroken when we separated, I felt like I also separated with his mother.
Mama Margarette brushed my hair while still showing me those warm smiles that I equaled. "I was so heartbroken when you and Aydan separated. I cannot accept that he let you go just like that," she said.
My smile faded and was replaced with a faint one.
"That was so stupid of you son. I can't still believe that you let go of your wife just because of your stupid ambition," she added and Aydan scoffed immediately.
Somehow, I felt sad for keeping the truth with Mama Margarette. She had done nothing but good to me that excluding her as well in Mari's life broke my heart more.
I knew she would be a very good grandmother to my daughter and I was so bad for taking that away from her.
"How are you, anak? Do you have a new boyfriend now? A family perhaps?" she continued, ignoring her son's reaction.
I shook my head. "I'm not interested in those kinds of relationships anymore, Mama. I'm happy and content with how my life is going now," I answered truthfully.
"Why? You're still young and very beautiful, hija. You could still make any man fall in love with you," she said and Aydan reacted again immediately.
