--Robert--

Exiting the bedroom, we made our way to my office. I heard my father screaming. Sighing, I opened the door. There stood my dad behind the desk. Thomas and an officer stood on the other side. Taylor and Ethan stood straight in one corner of the room

"Dad." I called.

Seeing me, he calmed down and sat back. I nodded at Thomas and the officer and we seated down. John, Sam and I flopped on the couch.

"Who?" I asked. Even though no one has talked anything till now everyone knew it was an attack. They were hit by a truck multiple times. Police have confirmed it on the day of the accident itself.

"James and Christopher." Thomas answered.

I went back into my memory to recognise them. James and Christopher, assassins of senator. My dad is the one who helped the police in that case. So it seems that they planned revenge now.

"Is it them who followed Rosy?"

Thomas shook his head, "They are some low level criminals. Couldn't gather any information from them. They were just hired to do the dirty work."

"What did James and Christopher say?"

My dad suddenly banged his fist on the table.

"Dad?"

"They were dead." The police officer said.

"Dead?"

He nodded, "Both. Shoot each other."

"What? Why?" John asked.

"What do you mean by shooting each other? Is it their plan to attack and kill themselves?" I asked.

"Exactly!!" Thomas cried, "That's what I'm wondering. They are not the type of persons who kill themselves. They could have easily escaped. Then why?"

"Why?"

"Because it's not them. Another one." Thomas answered.

"Another one?"

"Someone used them and killed them."

"Who is that someone?"

Thomas shrugged, "I'm keeping tabs on everyone on our list. I didn't find any suspects. Everyone has their alibis. I'm not sure."

"What do you mean by you aren't sure. I know that you have someone in mind. And what has Sanju done to them? She doesn't even know anyone."

"There is one more thing you need to know, Mr. Tango." The officer said.

“We suspect that this attack was planned on you.” Taylor said, addressing me.

“On me??” I asked Taylor. The officer, Ethan and Thomas nodded in unison.

“On the day of the accident, Sanju took your car instead of hers. She visited you that evening. They took the same route that you will take to come home and it’s the exact time you intended to leave on that day.” Ethan spoke.

My world has frozen for a moment. I couldn't process what I had listened to. It was supposed to be me. The attack was supposed to be on me. That day if I had answered her call she wouldn't have visited me in the office. She would have come home straight. If I had taken her out nothing would have happened. It was me. All because of me. She suffered. I nearly lost her. I haven’t protected her. I have thrown her into danger.

“Thomas, I know for sure that you have someone in your mind. Who is it?” I said. My voice was pathetic and my eyes were burning with tears. I want to find the person immediately. They shed Sanju’s blood and I'm not going to leave them.
