Chapter 9

"Holy shit," a voice, fearful and shocked, cut through the haze. What had happened? I wasn't really awake, nor was I totally unconscious. I don't even know what the last thing I could remember? My whole body was tingling, not exactly painful, and yet it was still an abnormal sensation. Was I dead? Is this what felt like? Wasn't there supposed to be a white light or a winged horse? Think I would settle for a staircase at this point. Though I would much prefer a golden escalator.

I could feel hands running along my body. I knew they were Loki's as they were cold.
"Please be okay" Loki muttered over and over. I could just make out someone else yelling and running.
"Amelia!" I heard Thor shout.
"Thor, In here!" Loki screamed.
"Oh Odin's eye, What happened here?" A voice boomed "Amelia?" Lord Thor voice boom "Loki, What happened here?"
"Thor, I don't know what happened. I wanted to make sure Amelia was okay as there is a sickness bug spreading over the realm and when I got here, That bitch was in the wall and Amelia was on the floor" Loki half lied.
"Why would you be making sure Amelia was okay?"
"Someone has to make sure you are keeping your room clean. You don't listen to mother" Loki huffed. Hopefully, this would be enough to make Thor drop the subject "Why are you here?"
"I was taking some time away from the castle. I saw the explosion and came running" Lord Thor stated "Amelia? Hey, can you hear me? Loki, Did you call for help?" Due to the ringing in my ears, I could hear bits and pieces of the conversation. Lord Thor placed his large hand on my cheek "And how is she in the wall?" Elena's in the wall? And I put her there? How did I do that?
"Yes, Of course, I did, I ain't stupid but I had no response" I could hear Loki pacing.
"She's burning up too" Lord Thor was touching my forehead. I groaned as he did so. I felt Loki grab my hand. His cold hands felt good against my skin. I moved slightly. Loki pinned me to the floor "Why is her hand smoking?"
"How am I supposed to know? I just got here" Loki yelled. He was starting to panic "Amelia, don't move, okay? Help is coming" I just wanted the pressure in my head to stop, and the pain that now spread everywhere as well. That's when it went quiet.

I could soon smell the disinfectant of the hospital ward. Even as the head maid, this stuff was way too strong. Even for me.
"Loki, She will wake up soon. The doctor even said as much" I heard Lord Thor speak "And will you stop pacing?"
"I'm worried!" Loki raised his voice.
"Really? And here I thought you were trying out for the local track team!" Lord Hogun sighed. I think I heard Loki grumble in response.
"Does anyone know what happened?" Lord Fandral spoke. He sounded worried.
"All I know is that I was heading to check on Amelia when I heard a bang from her house" Loki explained "I ran in her door and saw Amelia on the floor and that tart Elena in the wall"
"I thought we threw Elena out of the city?" Lord Volstagg coughed.
"We did. She charmed her way back in" Lady Sif stated, "where is she now?"
"Dungeons. Mother is trying to get information out of her" Lord Thor spoke. His voice sounded deep. Like he was thinking of something.
"What's on your mind, Thor?" Lord Volstagg huffed.
"Yeah, even I could see the cogs shaking off the dust" Lord Hogun joked. Lord Thor let out a puff of air "Great comeback. Exhaling"
"How did Elena end up in the wall?" Lord Thor's voice was muffled.
"The doctor said that injuries Elena had to her torso and arm, she was blasted into the wall with a fireball" Lord Hogun added.
"By who though? As far as we know, Amelia is a normal Asgardian with no powers"
"Thor, You know full well that some powers can lay dormant for years, Some never surfacing" Lord Fandral replied.
"There are not many Asgardians with powers. Almost 98% of them live in the palace" Lady Sif moved "If she does have powers then who is the family does she belong too"
"She said she was nobody" Lord Volstagg stated.
"Well clearly our nobody, Is connected to somebody" Lord Hogun announced.
"Amelia is not just a nobody!" Loki shouted. I heard his chair speak as he jumped out of it. I wanted to comfort him but I couldn't move "Sorry"
"Brother, It is fine" Lord Thor sounded closer. I could hear patting of clothing "We just need a plan"
"Speak your mind Thor" Lord Volstagg slapped his hands together.
"Fandral, Sif. Go see if my mother needs help with Elena"
"Sure" The pair spoke. I think they left as I heard the door open.
"Volstagg and Hogun, Head to archives, Find me the names of the families that have powers in this realm. See if any of them have had a girl born in the last 24 to 25 years"
"On it!" The pair declared. I heard them run out of the room.
"What should I do brother?" Loki mumbled. I knew he was close as I could feel his fingers near mine. I wanted to hold them but I couldn't move.
"You are staying here with me and now that they have gone. You are going to answer some questions"
