"I had no idea that it could be so complicated to organise a wedding" I ran a hand over my hair. We still had a week to go to mine and Loki's wedding "there was still so much to do"
"Arranging the reception is a piece of cake, even the dress wasn't difficult. And yet, trying to sort out the seating arrangements in like planning a war" Lady Frigga smiled as we stared at the seating plan laid on the table. Loki had fallen asleep in the corner. Couldn't blame him really, We have been at this for hours.
"This is a nightmare!" I groaned "It simply cannot be this difficult. Should we just let them sit wherever they like?"
"We could but like with the balls, Odin likes to have certain people sit next to each other and others away from those people" Lady Frigga sighed.
"One of the many stupid rules that should be thrown away" Loki mumbled.
"Oh, so you are awake?" I looked over my shoulder.
"Not really but awake enough to hear the odd bit of information" Loki open one eye lazily "Father needs to get out of the dark ages"
"We know" Lady Frigga agreed "People are going to sit where they want for the wedding itself. It's just the reception"
"From what I remember from the ball, We still need to keep certain people away from other people" I stared at the seating plan.
"Let's section the pins" Lady Frigga folded her arms. I looked at the set of pins. There was purple for my guests and Green for Loki's guests. Red for semi-important people. Blue for the VIPS and Gold for the Royal family.
"I take it the top table is for us lot?" I placed the pins on the board.
"Correct" Lady Frigga nodded "Bride's on the left and Groom's on the right" We both glanced at the board. There was hardly anyone on my side. No scratch that. I had no one on my side "I know you want this Bucky fellow to give you away but do you really have no other family?"
"No, There's just me" I looked away sadly.
"That seems sad"
"I am used to it" I shrugged "How many people are there again?" Loki yawned. He was pretty flat on the sofa at this point.
"And there 3000 guests that need seating. Where to put them all?" I waved my hand at the table.
"If we are to go by Odin's Law, The fancy VIPs go near the front, Are any of those family or single people"
"From this list," Lady Frigga picked up a piece of paper "150 people are single and the rest are in groups"
"So for single people pins, We can form 30 tables of 5. So that leaves 350 people, So I do some quick math" I counted on my fingers "That leaves 70 tables that can be divided for the families" We started putting the pins in the foam. Reading from the list, We only had to keep 3 families away from each other "Boom, that's five hundred down. Only two thousand to go"
"And what of The Avengers?" Lady Frigga asked as Loki tensed up.
"I invited all the ones that I met. Stark, Natasha, Steve, Barton, Banner, Rhodes, Wanda, Vision, Pietro. They may have babies with them. There's a man of spiders called Peter and Bucky"
"And has any of them sent RVSP back?" Loki grumbled. I looked down at the pins.
"No. Not yet" I shook my head.
"So that's an extra 3 tables then" Lady Frigga spoke as she added an extra 3 tables on the board and placed the pins around it.
"Oh Amelia, We're meeting Talia tomorrow to discuss the details of the band. She couldn't make it today" Lady Frigga added a sticky note to the 'To do' board. While Lady Frigga had her back to me "You need to meet the tailor for alterations for your dress straight afterwards as well" she added another post-it note.
"So now to work on the pins. We are going to need more coffee" I grabbed the coffee pot and made a fresh batch.

After 3 more hours of figuring things out. Every guest had a seat and a meal. There were well into triple figures for tables. I don't get how as I don't know that many people. But I guess that because Loki is a Prince. It was more of a Royal thing. It was a complete nightmare to work out but we did it. Since I had a few hours spare before Loki was free (He had been kidnapped by Thor for a suit fitting), I decided that I would head into the market. I haven't been in a while. Well not by myself. Due to the stress of my powers and the wedding, I seemed to have a permanent bodyguard around at the minute.

The markets were rather busy this morning, as they usually were. Things were a little crowded but I seem to be doing okay. I could hear the self-doubt in the back of my head but I knew I could handle it. I saw some guards around so I knew that if I lost it, They would find Loki quickly. Thor would send him flying with the help of his hammer. Even though I was handling the crowds well, I still hated when people were right on top of me when looking at the stalls.
"Get your fruit here! We got Apples fresh from the orchard!"
"Fresh fish from the river!"
"We got chicken! Beef! And Pork!" Many traders shouted. I smiled as I walked around the stall. I sat down on a bench and sighed. I finally got to relax. It was so nice to be finally getting out and about. It had been too long since I had actually left the palace.

Since I had some time to myself. I decided that I would sort out the maid's schedules. And Like normal, I was pacing around the pavement. I had my head in a notebook when I could hear shouting. I looked up briefly but couldn't see anyone. I shrugged and went back to my notebook.
"So, Elizabeth is switching with Josie" I nibbled on the end of my pencil "Charlotte is off these 3 days and Maxine is away at her mother's house"
"Amelia!" I heard someone shout. Again, I looked up but couldn't see anyone. I must be working too hard. I yawned.
"Jasmine will want that shift as she always does. But I wonder if she will cover Lisa's shift on Monday?" I started walking around "So, Charlotte is switching with Elaine" I nibbled on the end of my pencil. To keep somewhat busy (Till Loki was done) I was updating the schedules. Again "But Elizabeth needs these days off. Josie is off these 3 days and Jayni is only available for these days" I started walking around.

And as per usual, I wasn't watching where I was going. Just then, a large horse-drawn cart pulled out in front of me, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist, pulling me out of its way as it raced past.
"Good lord," I gasped in surprise as I looked up to see Lord Volstagg in front of me "Lord Volstagg. I must thank you"
"Amelia, You should be more careful. It really is busy today" I breathed slowly, trying to calm my nerves "Just watch where you're going. I'd hate for my favourite maid to get run over by some crazy loon on a cart"
"It seems history is repeating itself. Last time you saved me, You tried to put me off dating Loki"
"Oh, Deja Vu" Lord Volstagg shivered "Do not fret, Little one. I ain't here to change your mind this time. I much prefer Loki when he is dating you to how he was back then"
"I wouldn't listen anyway" I smile "So why are you here?"
"I am trying to find some beard cream. Mine ran out this morning. Everywhere is out of stock" Lord Volstagg groaned. I put my finger on my chin. I then clicked my fingers.
"Go find Charlotte. Tell her I sent you. We have some cream in the maid's keep"
"You are a lifesaver" Lord Volstagg grinned. He then hugged me and ran off "And make sure you are watching where you are going!" He shouted over his shoulder.

I went and sat on a small bench by the waterside, looking out onto the Ifing bay. On sunny days like this, with the sun hanging in the sky and its light reflected off the water's surface, it was truly a wondrous sight to behold. There was only the faint sound of the rushing water, the noise of some children playing. I felt something swift in my pocket. I grinned as I pulled out a single rose.
"How did you get in there?" I spoke as I held the rose up in the light.
"I love you xx" I read the paper. I looked at the rose. I could feel my cheek burn a little. The edges of my lips were turned up a lot. I gently caressed the delicate petals.
"I love you too my Prince. Miss you too" I whispered.

As I placed the rose back in my pocket. I flinched a little as I felt a pair of arms slid around my shoulders, holding me in place. I flinched at first but I soon relaxed "Loki"
"And I've missed you" Loki vaulted over the bench and sat next to me. We kissed on the lips.
"So, how did the suit fitting go?"
"Dreadfully boring. Thor and Volstagg look like monkeys. How they found a suit to fit Thor is beyond me. Fandral couldn't stop admiring himself. Apparently, he claims that his arse is the best looking in a suit. I thought he looked like one too. Hogun put his suit on and went ooh and then took it off" Loki wrapped his arm over me, pulling me to his chest.
"Sounds like a normal day really" I sighed.
"Still at least that is done and out of the way. When is your next dress fitting?"
"3 days before the wedding. Hopefully, Wanda says yes to being my bridesmaid" I looked at the floor. I went to say something else but I felt sick. Like I had to throw up. I hunched over and as I coughed.
"Amelia, Are you okay? You look a little pale?" Loki put the back of his hand on my forehead. It felt nice. Perks of being a frost giant I guess "Hmm, You're not feverish"
"Might be something I ate" I put my hand on my stomach "I feel ill"
"How can I help?" He asks as he rubs my back.
"I don't think you can" I rubbed my stomach and hunched over.
"Darling, I think we should get you to the healers. Just to be safe" Loki stood and picked me up bridal style "I got you"
