I spun around and wrapped my arms around my man's shoulders. Pulling him as closely as I could to me.
"Loki, You're home" I mumbled, pulling him closer to me. Loki kissed me on the forehead.
"Yes, I am" Loki muttered into my hair "I've missed you so much my love" I reached up and kissed along his jawline.
"I've missed you too. The bed felt awfully empty without you," I say, Loki hums in agreement, He grins as he starts placing feather-light kisses on my cheek.
"Trust me when I say, I will not be going back to my birth world. The place stinks and awfully cold and I don't feel the cold" Loki chuckled. He closed his eyes as he sniffed my hair "Merely the memory of your touch was enough to drive me insane. All I could remember was you, Lingering in my bedsheets and Toying with my hair. Your face hovering above mine and your fingers tracing patterns on my skin. I longed for you back in my arms. I don't want to leave you again" Loki kissed my lips and then down my neck.
"Don't do that?" I chuckled as my hand gripped his hair.
"Do what?" He responded with such innocence. Kissing my neck again "I'm just kissing you goodnight"
"You know what"
"Just tell me, darling" Loki kissed me again.
"When you kissed me like that, Makes me agree to almost anything" I shivered.
"Anything?" Loki smirked at me. I nodded "You know, If it hadn't been such a long day and I just wanted to crawl into bed with you, I would take you here and now" Loki picked me up and bridal carried me to the bed "But for now, We both need to rest, You look just as tired as I feel"
"I am," I said, My eyes feeling heavy "Okay, I'm lying. I am exhausted"
"I know. Heimdall told me as much as I walked through the Bifrost" Loki pulled the blankets over us "You should have been taking it easy, You are still healing"
"I was bored. I hate sitting around" I complained.
"I know my pet" Loki sighed. I curled up in his side. Breathing in his scent "But even though you look tired, You still look beautiful" Loki whispered as we drifted off to sleep.

Over the next week, I tried to ask Loki about what happened on his trip to Jotunheim, but he wouldn't tell me. He would always say that it was not important and that he wish he had never gone (According to Thor, Loki had some strong choice of words for Lord Odin). Even Lady Frigga couldn't tell me.

Still, Loki will tell me in his own time. I had other things to be worried about. Since it was coming up to the end of summer, The palace would be holding its annual harvest ball and I had to make sure the main hall was so clean that you could see your face in it.

I had my head in a notebook when I could hear shouting. I looked up briefly but couldn't see anyone. I shrugged and went back to my notebook.
"So, Elizabeth is switching with Josie" I nibbled on the end of my pencil "Charlotte is off these 3 days and Maxine is away at her mother's house for her grandmother's funeral"
"Amelia!" I heard someone shout. Again, I looked up but couldn't see anyone. I must be working too hard. I yawned.
"Jasmine will want that shift as she always does. But I wonder if she will cover Lisa's shift on Monday?" I started walking around.
"Amelia!" I felt a hand on my shoulder. This made me jump and drop all my stuff.
"Thor!" I yelled as he bent to pick my notebook up "You scared me"
"Sorry, That was not my intention. I was shouting for you" Thor handed me my stuff back.
"What's up Sparkles?"
"I thought you would like to know that my friends got back to me. The ones from Midgard"
"The Avengers?" I tilted my head. Something felt wrong saying their name but I pushed it to the back of my mind. I had other things to worry about "Did they find out anything?"
"Someone what. You better sit down" Thor lead me to the stone bench, "Banner said that your DNA is kind of messed up"
"Messed up? How?" I put my hand on my chest.
"He said that your DNA is deliberate production of genetically identical individuals -" I put my hand over Thor's mouth.
"In Asgardian terms please" I sighed. Thor pulled away.
"Banner said it was like someone had taken DNA from two very different people different people and mashed them together" Thor smacked his hands together.
"What does that mean?"
"It means you were created" I felt as if the wind was knocked out of me.
"Created?" I licked my lips as I tried to process this information "What does that mean? Do I actually have parents?"
"Stark doesn't think so but he ain't a 100%"
"That's helpful" I rolled my eyes "What about my memories?"
"All he knows is that your DNA was forged, Which means your memories could also be forged" Thor struggled to say the part about my memories. I think he knew more than he let on but I couldn't think about that. I put my head in my hands. My whole life was a lie.
"Now I think about it, I don't remember my childhood. I remember everything after 10 years old" I tried to calm myself "Everything I know is a lie"
"Not everything, Your life is real. Your job. Your compassion is real. Your feelings for my brother is real" Thor then poked my forehead "And you are real. You are the only woman, Apart from Sif, that I know that argues like a Valkyrie. That is real enough for me"
"Even so, Why was I created? Why was I left behind?" I looked over towards the horizon.
"I don't know. For whatever their reasons for all this was, I am grateful that your parents, or those that created you, did leave you behind"
"You are?"
"Yes. You see, If you hadn't been created in whatever way, Mother would be stuck with that Elena witch and this place would be worse than Niflheim. The second reason, This place would be worse than my room. Even if my mother is the overall boss," Both me and Thor chuckled at this "And Thirdly, Loki wouldn't be this happy and content with life and probably try and destroy whatever realm he could" I smiled as I rubbed my arms.
"At least I know that part is real" I muttered. Thor put his hand on my shoulder.
"I will get my friends to do some more investigating for you. Stark can hack into any database"
"Thank you Thor" I nodded "At least I know that I belong somewhere in these realms"
"You, Tiny Asgardian, belong where your heart lies. Like Asgard, Home is where ever you are and that bean pole that we both love in different ways, is where your heart lies"
"Poetic as ever brother" Loki spoke from the stairwell. He made both me and Thor jump. He had a smirk plastered on his face. He was leaning on a pillar. Arms crossed in front of him.
"Hanging around you for 1000 years tends to sink in" Thor smiled. He then turned back to me "I'll let you two talk"
"Thank you Sparkles" I grinned.
"Will you stop calling me that? I don't sparkle" Thor replied.
"You do when you try to summon lightning without your hammer" I grinned. Thor poked his tongue out at me. As he walked past Loki, he grabbed his upper arm and whispered something in his ear. I saw Loki nod once before he strolled over to me.

"So what did my airhead brother want?" Loki pointed over his shoulder. I patted the seat next to me.
"His smart friends on Midgard found something strange with my DNA" I explained everything that I had just been informed. Loki sat there and listened to every single word.
"I see. How are you coping with the news?"
"I just feel so lost right now" My hands started shaking as I cried. Letting everything out "I'm sorry" I went to wipe my eyes with the back of my hand. Loki placed his arms around me, holding me against his chest, kissing my messy hair.
"It's okay my love, I'm here" He whispered. I started to sob, Well, More like I was ugly crying. I thought Loki would push me away at the mere sight of me but he still held onto me. His hand rubbed small circles into my back "Ssshh... it's alright, My dear, I'm here, everything's alright"
"I'm sorry" I kept repeating.
"Don't be" Loki soothed. His arms tightened around me. His arms always make me feel safe "You have nothing to be sorry for. Sometimes the mind can only take so much. You had a few trying weeks lately. What with the new job, Elena's attacks. This weird power thing you have going on. No one will blame you for letting a wall lose a brick"
"I am stronger than this. I need to get a grip and control myself" I sniffed as I clenched at Loki's tear-drenched shirt "After a few more cuddles of course"
"Sweetheart, I will give you all the cuddles you want" Loki grinned. Loki placed both hands on my face. Using his thumbs, He wiped away my tears before gently placing his soft lips on mine.
"So it doesn't matter that I am created?"
"No, at all. I don't care if you were created by sex or in a test tube. It doesn't matter as you are mine"
"I could be a monster?"
"And? So am I" Loki scoffed.
"So you still want to be with me?"
"I have but a thousand reasons as to why I will stay by your side. However, I cannot see your motives as to why you are with me. You've witnessed my failures. As a brother and as a God" Loki's hand dropped down to my waist "You have the ability to overlook all my flaws and still love me. The only flaw you have is when you doubt yourself"
"But as I overlook yours, You overlook mine" I lent my head on Loki's chest.
"I do hope I ain't interrupting anything" A voice chimed. Loki and I immediately pulled apart to see his mother standing in the doorway.
