~Skeppy's pov~

Is there any real way to properly describe extreme pain in the degree that the border had thrown upon me?

It felt as if my body had been set ablaze, but was also being frozen. Thousands of tiny needles pricked my skin, and what felt like thousands of volts of energy pulsed through my body, as I was sent flying backward.

I hit the ground hard, and slowly roll to a stop, multiple yards away, near the edge of the platform.

I choke back a cry of pain, as slowly raise my head, which proved to be a challenge at the moment, because my body was shaking so violently.

I look over to XD, who is standing, dumbstruck, on the other side of the border, completely unharmed.

The silence dragged on for painful minutes, as I fought to get the shaking under control.

After what felt like hours, I take on the struggle of standing up.

Once I had pushed off the ground, I felt as if everything had been drained from my body. My legs felt super weak, and it was a miracle that I could still stand... its all I can do to stand right now...

My legs continued to shake, and I didn't dare try to take a step like this. I know my limits, and I would definitely fall.

This is worse than when I first fell into hell...

"No..."

I hear the low rumble of the god.

"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" He boomed, his shouts fueled by a cocktail of emotions.

Threads began to gather on one of his claws, and with a swift movement, he swung them... at me.

I squeeze my eyes shut and brace for the pain of being tangled in those death wires.

But it never came... instead, the sound of the whip was followed by a soft tearing sound.

My eyes flutter open in time to watch helplessly as my box falls away from my head, the cyan shape torn into matching halves.

The now useless pieces of cardboard fell to me feet, and I'm left staring at the god, my face completely exposed. The shimmering spots reflected light onto his mask...

"how..? What have you done..?" XD seemed completely taken aback, all the anger drawn from his voice for a moment as he stood back in awe.

Too bad that couldn't last...

I curl my arms around myself in a miserable attempt to stop shaking, as every drop of fury returned to XD.

"Could you be... No! t-THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!"

The ground began to shake, and it took all my will power to stay standing as a mass of magic amounted around the god, causing his cape to snap wildly around.

It was almost as if he had a glowing outline...

"I have no use for a defective demon. Farwell."

He snarled, pulling his claw to one side to summon the strings, and then snapped his terrifying grip at me.

As the ribbons closed in, someone grabbed my wrist from behind, pulling me beside them, as I began to lean on them for support.

The angelic figure threw a hand out to summon their own line of defense, a golden dome, one that the green ribbons cracked against as they wrapped around the full shape of the barrier.

Their wing was so soft, and fluffy... It made me feel safe as it wrapped around me.

The green threads refused to disappear, and XD let out a growl of disproval.

"Niki... I though I told you to leave."

The pink haired angel stood, holding her defense of me. Unbreaking against the immense pressure.

"XD. It goes against everything I know to leave two, helpless people here to suffer. And look at what you have done! You just tried to kill him." She responded, holding me tight.

"Niki... Really?" XD breathed, trying to regain his composer, or, more specifically, his calm tone of voice. "A hybrid..? That shouldn't even be possible! No, that isn't possible! That thing is a freak to the natural law!"

Niki held her one hand steadily in front of us, holding up the barrier, despite the injuries to her arms that were still oozing golden blood.

The ribbons remain relentless, clinging to to golden surface of the protective dome.

"It's not impossible..." Niki growled under her breath, entertaining XD's stare.

"What was that darling? Speak up."

"I said, it's not impossible." She growled once again.

XD stopped for a moment, before giggling, ever so slightly.

"And how would you know that?"

I looked up to see the burning hatred on Niki's face as she stared at the god. He had touched a nerve with his mockery.

And that was the last straw...

"BECAUSE I WAS HUMAN ONCE TOO, GOD DAMN IT!"
