Percy knelt before Gaea, shaking as she said, "You failed me, Perseus."
"I'm so..."
"Don't apologize!" she hissed, "Apologies will not get you anywhere! You made a mistake, and you now must face the punishment."
Percy began shaking even more as Gaea pulled a syringe out of her pocket. She pushed up his sleeve and pushed the syringe into his arm. Almost immediately, he began writhing, screaming as pain shot through his body.
"Please!" he shrieked, his voice echoing throughout the house, "Please, make it stop!"
"Leah!" Gaea calls out. Another demigod walks in. She bows to Gaea, "Yes?"
"Take on Percy's form. Finish what he started."
She bowed again and walked out. Gaea turned back to Percy as he stopped writhing and just lay on the ground, motionless except for his twitching fingers. She smiled at him, "Soon you'll understand my ways Percy. You'll understand why I am doing this. But for now, I will keep using these fluids I have created to make you uncomfortable in the most horrible ways."
Monsters came in and carried Percy out.

Annabeth woke with a start. She looked out her cabin window to see that it was morning. Judging by her sleeping cabinmates, she hadn't screamed this time. She ran her fingers through her hair, shaking slightly. Two nightmares in one night, both of Percy being tortured and abused by Gaea. She decided to go talk to Chiron about it, so she climbed out of bed and quietly dressed herself. Once she was dressed, she walked over to the big house to find Chiron pacing the deck with a troubled look on his face. She walked up to him, "What's wrong."
"Percy," Chiron said, and Annabeth's body tightened, "Last night he appeared here and he took Sally, Paul and Estelle to Olympus."
Annabeth frowned, "Why?"
"I don't know. I think it was to keep them safe."
"What I don't understand," Annabeth says, "Is how did Percy's fatal flaw not stop him?"
Chiron shook his head, "I don't know. But we have to be careful. Now, what did you come to me for?"
Annabeth hesitated for a second before saying, "I had these dreams last night. Both were of Percy in Tartarus."
"What did you see?" Chiron asked.
"He was failing to do the things Gaea asked. And then she punished him."
"How did she punish him?"
"She injected him with some kind of serum that she made herself. It obviously caused him a lot of pain because both times he started writhing and screaming for it to stop."
Chiron pondered this, "Maybe this serum is the reason his fatal flaw did not hold out. I will look more into this. Thank you for telling me Annabeth."
"One more thing," Annabeth said. Chiron raised an eyebrow as she took a deep breath, "I think Percy is going to die."

Chiron called down Rachel and she explained the paintings. After she had spoken, Chiron looked extremely troubled. He thanked the girls for telling him before dismissing them, saying he was going to look into it. After they left the big house, Rachel took Annabeth to her cave, where they sat now.
"When did the world get so messed up?" Rachel sighed. Annabeth nodded in agreement. Rachel began packing away her paintings of Percy. Annabeth stood and walked over to the one of Percy sleeping (or dead).
"Can I keep this one?" She asked. Rachel shrugged, "Sure. I didn't think you would want any of them."
"Thanks," Annabeth said. She picked up the painting and took it down to her cabin. She sat down on her bed, placing the artwork beside her drawers. Malcom came up to her, "Is that Percy?"
She nodded, "Rachel painted it."
"He looks peaceful."
A lump formed in Annabeth's throat, but she managed to say, "Yes."
Malcom sat down next to her and wrapped his arm around her. Tears began to fall down her cheeks as she thought about Percy. In the past four years, she had gotten a lot closer with her half-brother. He had been there for her when Percy was thrown into Tartarus, and he was there for her now. She knew he would always be there for her. He was her brother, and he was a good person. She sat with Malcom like that for a while. Then the conch horn sounded for breakfast, and together they walked up to the dining pavillion. Malcom stayed with her for the rest of the day.
