Nico was not expecting Percy to show up in his room. The King never visited Nico. The King never visited anyone, except maybe his mom.
"Um, hi?" Nico said when Percy walked in, "A polite person would knock."
Percy's eyes glittered dangerously, "Who said I was a polite person?"
"Did you need something?" Nico asked. Percy strolled over, "Actually, yes. I need you to fight for me."
Nico frowned, "What?"
"The demigods are coming for me, and I need a demigod on my side who isn't Drew Tanaka."
"Why would I fight for you?"
Percy's eyes narrowed.
"Think about it," Nico said, "All my friends will be fighting against you. Why would I fight my friends?"
"That's a good question," Percy said, "Because I asked you to?"
"I won't be fighting for either side," Nico said, "That way, I won't hurt any of my friends."
Percy stood, "If you change your mind come and find me."
He strode from the room, and Nico frowned. Why on earth would Percy think he'd fight against Camp Half-Blood? Why would he fight against his friends? His family? He sighed, "I'm going to find Will."

Camp Half-Blood was readying for war. Hundreds of campers lined up outside the dining pavilion, dressed in full armor with weapons strapped to their bodies. Chiron paced in front of them. Dionysus had been called back to Olympus, and he hadn't wanted to be sent to Tartarus, so he went back immediately. The campers had no gods on their side, nothing except a child of Athena who Percy could not kill.
Lou Ellen walked up to Chiron, "We have finished placing a protection spell on Annabeth."
Chiron nodded his thanks, "Hopefully it will be enough."
He turned to the campers, "Alright everyone!"
All chatting stopped, and Chiron cleared his throat, "Today we march on Olympus. Our plan is to keep Percy's armies distracted whilst Annabeth goes in and defeats the King. Does everyone one understand?"
A chorus of yeses sounded from the campers. Chiron looked up at the sky, at the grey clouds above them. A storm was coming.

Thalia corned Annabeth outside the Big House. The daughter of Athena was pacing backwards and forwards, muttering to herself.
"Hey," Thalia said, "The campers and hunters have left. They're meeting Camp Jupiter now."
"Just a minute," Annabeth said. Thalia rolled her eyes, "This plan is going to work, Annabeth."
"And what if it doesn't?" Annabeth said, "What if he kills everyone? It'll be my fault."
Thalia shook her head, "It won't be your fault. It will be Percy's fault. And he'll have to live with that."
Annabeth sighed, "I can't shake the feeling that something is about to go wrong."
Thalia shrugged, "No one knows our future, not even the gods. We might die today, or we might win. Not knowing the future doesn't mean we should stop trying to fight for it."
Annabeth glanced at Thalia, "Since when did you become the wise one?"
Thalia grinned, "It's a once off thing. I doubt it'll happen again."
Together the two girls walked towards the edge of camp, where Argus was waiting to drive them into New York, to Percy.
