"He's got Annabeth," Thalia said as soon as they walked into Chiron's office. Mr. D was sitting in Chiron's chair, talking in hushed tones with the centaur. Both stopped talking when Thalia and Jason walked in.
"What were you talking about?" Jason asked.
"Nothing," Chiron didn't meet Jason's eyes. The son of Jupiter decided to let it drop.
"You were saying about Annie Bell?" Mr. D asked. Jason rolled his eyes. Even in life threatening situations, the guy was purposely annoying.
"Annabeth was captured. By Percy," Thalia said. Chiron frowned, "Well this is distressing news."
"We have to go save her!" Thalia yelled. Jason put his hand on her arm to calm her down.
"I think," Chiron said gently, "Annabeth is probably safer with Percy."
Thalia's mouth dropped open, "You can't be serious."
"I am quite serious," Chiron said, eyes stern, "Percy would never do anything to hurt her. And when she's with him, his monsters won't either."
"He pushed her against a wall!" Thalia protested. Jason had to agree with Thalia on this one. Percy was unstable. How would they know what he'd do?
"I will work on getting her out," Chiron announced, "In the meantime, we'll have to hope he still loves her as much as he did before Tartarus."
Thalia turned on her heel and stormed out of the office. When Jason stayed, Mr. D rolled his eyes, "Did you need something Jake?"
"Leave us Dionysus," Chiron sighed. The god stood, walking out, muttering about centaurs and the children of Zeus getting extra privelages. Chiron sighed at him before turning back to Jason, "What is it?"
"Um," Jason said, "I killed someone."
Chiron frowned, "And?"
"And she was obviously very important to Percy, because he was very sad and angry afterwards."
Chiron rubbed his temples, "And now you believe he will come after you."
Jason nodded.
"Promise me you won't go to him?"
"I promise. He's way more powerful than me. He'd kill me easily."
Chiron nodded, "I want you to stay in the Big House, as a precaution."
Jason nodded, "I'll go move my things."***
~Flashback~
Percy sat outside the house, holding a white cloth to his bleeding forehead. Well, the cloth was now red, but it had been white. He tensed as someone sat down next to him.
"You know that'll scar," Leah said by way of acknowledgment. Percy turned to look at her. Her yellow shirt was soaked with blood, and her brown hair had some in its tips.
"I know," he said tightly. After a moment, he said quietly, his throat bobbing, "I nearly killed you."
She frowned, "Are you blaming yourself?"
"You could've died, and it would've been my fault."
She huffed a laugh, "I was the idiot who got in your way. Don't blame yourself Percy."
She reached a hand up to his forehead and pulled away the cloth, when she saw the mutilated skin underneath, she frowned, "You should get that checked out."
"Tartarus doesn't have any doctors," Percy argued. Leah rolled her eyes, "She does have water. She keeps it in her lab."
Percy's face hardened, "I'm not going in there."
"At least let me look at it."
He sighed. He might as well let her. She shifted closer and instructed him to place his head in her lap. Once he was in position, she brushed his hair out of the way and pulled another cloth out of her jeans pocket. She gently dabbed at his forehead, cleaning the blood off. Then she pulled out a cotton medical pad and placed it on his wound, taping it down with surgical tape.
"Where did you get this stuff?" Percy asked. Leah shrugged, "I stole it."
"From where?"
"A hospital, duh!"
Leah went on missions for Gaea. She had been the one to steal Poseidon's trident. It appeared as though on the last one she had stopped by at a hospital to steal a few essentials.
"Did you manage to do it without taking someone else's face?" Percy asked jokingly.
"I shifted to look like a desk lady," Leah admitted. Percy laughed.
"All done," she said, and he sat up.
"If that wound keeps bleeding like a waterfall, come and get me to redress it."
"Will do, Doctor Leah."
She laughed. Percy's face turned serious, "I know Gaea hates when I say this, but I'm sorry for hurting you."
She smiled, "It's alright, Percy."~End Flashback~
Percy sat on his bed, rokcing back and forth. His mother sat beside him, rubbing his back. He had just told her that Leah was dead, and he'd been unable to get the words out without crying again. He hadn't told her that he was going to kill Jason, and he had yet to tell her that Annabeth was on Olympus. He wasn't ready for that coversation.
Sally stood up, "I'm going to go back to my room if that's okay?"
He nodded. He had things to do anyway. She left, and he walked into the bathroom. He turned on the shower, and pulled a drachma off the sink. He threw it into the water, "Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please accept my offering! Show me Nico di Angelo."
An image appeared of Nico sitting on a coffin in the Hades cabin. He stood up quickly when he saw Percy.
"Hi Nico," Percy said. Nico bowed stiffly, and Percy huffed a laugh, "Please don't bow."
"Is there a reason you're messaging me?" Nico asked. He looked older now, which wasn't surprising, since it had been four years since he'd seen the boy, but it still rattled Percy.
"Yes," Percy said, "I want you to come to Olympus."
Nico frowned, "I'm not joining your side if that's what you're asking."
Percy shook his head, "No. Your dad asked for your safety, and I can't keep you safe while you're at camp."
Nico raised an eyebrow, "Right."
"I'm telling the gods-damned truth, Nico."
"Uh-huh."
"I'm coming to get you."
A minute later, Percy was standing beside a very shocked Nico. He grabbed Nico's arm and flashed back to Olympus. The son of Hades scrambled away from Percy the moment they landed. Percy raised an eyebrow, "I thought you did shadow-travel?"
"I wasn't expecting that!" Nico argued. Two dracnae walked into the room, and Nico drew his stygian iron sword. Percy just plucked the sword from his hand and gestured to the dracnae, "They will show you to your room."
Nico looked at Percy, stunned, but Percy just turned and walked back into the bathroom, turning off the shower.
