Chapter twenty-five: The Land Of Awakening

"Hey, where are you from?" The woman asked, kneeling.

"I'm not supposed to tell you that." I mumbled, staring at the floor. "You should know about the order."

"Right. You mind telling me your name?"

"Ra--. My parents left about a week ago, and haven't come back. I'm supposed to stay here, while he looks for them."

"You don't exactly like staying behind while he goes off on adventures, huh?"

"He treats me like a little kid!"

"Oh, really? Just how old are you, then?"

Their eyes didn't meet, "Five."

"Hey. Are you with her?"

"Yeah. She's helping me find my brother."

"Oh."

"Have you seen him?"

"Hmm..." He thought for a minute. "What's he look like?"

"Blonde hair, brown eyes."

"I dunno. One guy came here and..."

"Hm?"

"Nothing. I gotta keep it a secret. What's your name, anyway?"

"Oh, I'm--"

"Hey! Who are you?"

"Huh?"

A silver-haired boy with teal eyes walked up to her. "You shouldn't be out alone. It's dangerous."

"Y-you're-- Ri...."

"How did you...?"

"You're best friends are Sora and Kairi! You live on the Destiny Islands-- or, you did, but then you escaped."

"Wh--"

 "I have dreams about you every night! I just... want some answers..."

He watched in shock, as her body crumpled and she started to cry. "...My name is Riku. Does... that help at all?"

She sniffed, and wiped her eyes. "A-- a little. Thanks... I'm Ra--"

"...Hey. Hey!"

She slowly opened her eyes. Someone had been calling out to her-- but who?

"Are you okay?"

A blonde boy was standing above her, hand outstretched. She took it and he helped her stand.

"Who... Where did I..."

"This is the Land of Departure. And I'm Ventus. Call me Ven."

"...Ven..."

"Yeah, there ya go!"

A woman walked over, "Who's this?" the woman asked.

"I don't know, I just found her lying there. What's your name? Where did you come from? Do you remember?"

She shook her head and stared down at her feet.

"Ven, don't interrogate her. My name is Aqua."

"There were... three of you. Where is he?"

Ven blinked, How did she--?

Aqua answered her question and then took her shopping for clothes.

Then she was given her own room, which-- with heavy hearts-- they'd decided to empty out.

"Do you remember anything?" Ven asked. He was in the soon-to-be renovated bedroom with the stranger.

The nameless girl shook her head, but then something came to mind.

"Raven." She had the faintest memory of opening her eyes to a raven flying overhead.

"That's all?"

"Sorry..."

He rose from the new bed. "Well... I'm gonna go find Chirithy. See you later, Ravenna-- Oh, I-- Sorry, I didn't mean to--"

"No, it's fine. Ravenna... I like it. It's nice."

And so that was what she was called.
