For some reason, now Ven caught himself staring at Ravenna, and thinking about her constantly.
His heart was stirring with an unfamiliar fondness, different from the way Terra and Aqua made him feel.
Something was happening.
"TERRAAA!!! AQUAAAAA!!!" He ran, screaming, into the castle.
"Ven, what's up?" Terra asked with concern. He had returned home the day after the incident with Ravenna.
After managing to catch his breath, Ventus told his friends, "Something's happening to me."
When he explained his situation, though, the two of them only laughed.
"What's so funny!? Something could be seriously wrong with me and you two are--"
"There's nothing wrong with you, Ven." Aqua said, tousling his hair.
"There... isn't? Then what is going on!?" It was quite frustrating, being apparently out of the loop.
Terra explained, "You're falling in love."
"I'm... what? I don't want to fall!"
"Too bad. You've already fallen in, and most times, there's no getting back out." Aqua teased.
It was as though she spoke from personal experience...
Something felt off.
And Terra had been carrying around a small box, but it disappeared from sight whenever Aqua was around.
Along with the box... he'd been practicing some sort of speech.
Were they--?
"Ventus?" A voice called from behind.
He turned to look, and felt his face heat up with embarrassment.
"R-Ravenna, you're--"
"I wanted to talk to you. Can we... take a walk?"
He followed her outside.
"I... might have to go away soon. I'm not sure I belong here. Ventus, promise me one thing. Promise me... you won't change if I leave. You'll stay the same... won't you?"
Ven wasn't sure how to respond. Sure, Ravenna has been acting strange since her collapse, but he'd brushed it off as her still feeling unwell.
"What are you talking about? Why would you have to leave?"
"Please, just promise!"
Ven hesitated. While he didn't want her to go anywhere, she seemed desperate.
Still... there was always the chance she wouldn't leave at all.
"...Okay. I promise."
