Three month montage of training with Deku. (Imagine epic training montage, like Mulan level epic.)
It was almost the end of the four months, it was your last day before heading to UA. As normal, you arrived fifteen minutes early.
Deku: As always, I don't think I've ever seen you just on time.
You don't even flinch.
Y/N: I guess you could say that.
His daughter appears from behind him.
Isoko: So, I guess this is our last time training together, buddy.
Y/N: I guess so.
Isoko gives you a hug. You hug her back.
Isoko: May the best one win.
Y/N: Alas, Isoko.
Deku: We'll get to that. First, both of you, against me. Your last time was one and a half minutes. That's the goal to beat.
He rushes towards his daughter, you protect her using your Dashing Wave. You knock him into the sea. He comes up and dashes towards you.
Deku: Detroit Smash!
You sidestep the attack, delivering a knee to the ribs of the number one pro hero. You propel yourself with full power into the knee and send the pro flying into the air.
You strike him six times on the way up, before slamming him down into the ground. You follow up with your Flood and Deku is in much the same position as the first time.
Deku: Good. 50 seconds. I was expecting a minute and twenty seconds at least.
Y/N: I know. I actually did pretty well. I probably should have utilised my teammate more.
Deku: It's good to reflect, however, you went all-out to take the 'villain' out when you could. That's first priority, not to make sure your teammate gets a hit in. Teammates are useful sure, and teamwork is essential, but on the other hand, if you can do it alone, don't wait for a teammate to do it with you.
Y/N: Fair.
Isoko: You did good.
Deku: All right. Now we can get to the part we've waited for. Isoko, Y/N, square up to each other.
You do so. Isoko bows, as do you, before the momentous event.
Deku: Three rounds, five minutes each, until a knockout or submission, or until I say. Y/N, you can use your quirk.
Y/N: All right. Wait, isn't that unfair?
Deku: A villain won't play fair. Anyway, if she can't persevere through a quirk user, without a quirk, won't that just cause an over-reliance on it? There'd be no point in giving it to her.
Y/N: Fair.
Isoko: I like it. Makes me have to actually work for the damn quirk.
Y/N: I won't kill you, don't worry.
Isoko: I know.
A small gust of wind blows past you both, just before Deku starts the match.
She dashes towards you, seeing it, you grab her hand and start to fly with your quirk. You throw her down into the ground.
Deku: Range too.
You regrettably put your hands out and charge your Flood attack.
In the middle of the new crater lays Isoko's motionless body.
Y/N: Shit!
You fly down to her, checking for breathing and a pulse, breathing frantically.
Shit, shit, I fucking killed her. What the fuck Y/N? She's become your fucking best friend and this is how you repay her.
You realise she's breathing.
You breathe a sigh of relief and start to cry.
Y/N: I thought I killed you.
Your tears drop onto her face as she wakes.
Isoko: Shit. That fucking hurt. How long was I out?
Y/N: A few seconds. I'm so sorry.
Isoko: It's okay.
Y/N: I'm really sorry about that. I thought I killed you.
Isoko: It's fine. I'm not dead, in fact, I don't even have broken bones.
She jumps up, running around your crumbling state.
She pulls you up and squishes your cheeks.
Isoko: I'm okay, Y/N. There is nothing to be worried about. I'm perfectly fine.
Y/N: Hey, Deku, could we have a break?
Deku: It's fine. I want you back in five minutes.
Y/N: Thanks.
Isoko: He's always like that. If you're physically sore, heh, no breaks, but if you've done something and you start crying, that's a whole different thing.
Y/N: I'm surprised he didn't kill me for hurting you.
Isoko: He knows I can take it.
She cuddles you close for the next few minutes, rubbing your head.
Deku: Alright, let's do it.
You climb out of the crater, Isoko trailing behind.
Deku: You okay, Isoko?
Isoko: Yeah I'm fi-
Y/N: You ask her that now!?
Isoko: Y/N. I know it looks bad-
Y/N: That is bad. You're supposed to be looking after her, your daughter, the one that you love with all your heart!
Your voice croaks with searing rage.
Deku: I do love her, very much.
He says calmly.
Y/N: Then why don't you show it?
Deku: I do. By letting her do what she pleases. As she said, she is fine. I show my love by trusting her with her own fate.
Y/N: What? So, you'd leave her to her own fate against some dangerous villain?
Deku: Of course not, I trust you not to kill her. I knew she was alright from the moment she was hit with the blast.
Y/N: You really have to deal with this shit?
Isoko: I chose to deal with that.
Y/N: Wait, what?
You turn to your teacher.
Y/N: I-
Deku: It's fine. Not many agree with my parenting, Isoko is happy, that's the main thing. It did look bad, I can understand your rage towards me. I don't hold it against you.
Y/N: I'm sorry still.
Deku: It's all good. Now, I want to see round two.
Round two.
Safe to say, Isoko pays you back for blasting her in the chest by hitting you sixteen times in the ribs and hitting your jaw with a right hook. She gets on your back, choking you out.
The score is 1-1, the next match a deciding factor in the outcome of both of your lives.
