Pt. 41 The Promise

Y/N: Hoshi?

Hoshiko: Yes?

Y/N: You were really brave back there. I almost got you killed, I'm sorry.

Hoshiko: I'd do it anytime.

Y/N: Hoshi. I promise you, you will never die for me. I will get rid of every single thing that reminds you of your old life. I will make a new one. One where you're happy, okay?

Hoshiko: Okay. I look forward to a life with you.

Y/N: A life free from fear, not specifically with me, just a happy life, because of me.

Hoshiko: A happy life sounds like a life with you.

Y/N: There are other ways you can have a happy life. You know that, right?

Hoshiko: You still don't know how much you mean to me, do you?

Y/N: I think I do.

Hoshiko: I don't think so.

Y/N: I'm glad you love me so much.

Hoshiko: People who know what love means to them have much more to give.

The Hado household-

Nejire: You got the day off, so I guess we can chill at mine.

Eri: Thank you.

Nejire: It's fine.

They enter the house, a few minutes later, a knock at the door.

Nejire: Who?

She sees the silhouette.

Nejire: What the fuck do you want?

She mutters to herself, she freezes for a second, thinking of what you wanted. She shakes her head and walks to the door again.

Nejire: Amajiki. What brings you here?

She says in a passive-aggressive, hostile tone.

Tamaki: Hey. I'm really sorry about what I did. I meant what I said, if I'd known of him, I would have returned. But, I just, I wanted to know. You told me, that if you were going to have a kid, you'd be rid of it so I can have peace of mind.

Nejire: I said that. I remember. What I didn't expect was that, oh you'd never get it. You're probably angry with me for not doing it. Aren't you?

Tamaki: I'll not hold any judgement. Tell me.

Nejire: Fine. I found out when I started to feel the pain. I wasn't really far into my career, hadn't taken many hard knocks, good for him, I took a test when I got kicked in the face after feeling a cramping pain, and I realised it could have been.

Tamaki: Okay.

Nejire: I started to panic, I didn't know what to do, I loved this kid, even though it wasn't even a kid yet. I felt like, I had to have this kid.

Tamaki: I can understand it.

Nejire: I was going to tell you but, I never could find you in the field.

Tamaki: Yeah. That part was my fault. That, and putting the kid in you in the first place.

Nejire: You really do understand. I guess I forgot that about you.

Tamaki: Well, thanks.

He says, holding his hands behind his body.

Nejire: Right then. Well, to be honest, I'm glad we got it sorted after all these years.

Tamaki: Me too.

Nejire: You mister, have fifteen years to make up for.

She bends down, pointing a finger towards him.

Eri walks behind her.

Eri: Amajiki! You're here. I haven't seen you in forever.

Tamaki: Eri?

Eri: It's been a while. You wanna come in for some tea?

Tamaki: Umm,

Nejire: C'mon. It's fine, you still gotta make it all up to Y/N though!

Tamaki: Alright. I promise I'll do it. I have a lot of time to make up for.

Nejire: That you do.

Hoshiko: You know you are great, right? Anyway, how are you gonna make sure that I have a happy life if you aren't there to see it?

Y/N: You got a point.

You say as you snuggle up to her side, pulling into a loving, warm hug.

Hoshiko: That. That right there. This is what I need, for the rest of my life.

She says as she turns to her side, your face finding its way to her abs, as impressive as your own.

Y/N: You know I mean that promise. I will keep your life safe and happy. Only when my death comes will I stop.

Hoshiko: Let's not talk about death, okay? C'mon.

She pulls you past her chest to her face. Her eyes, the most beautiful orbs you had seen since before you'd even got here.

Y/N: Hoshi. How have you been feeling about everything lately? It's been a wild ride.

Hoshiko: Amazing. It's like, everything that troubled me is gone.

Y/N: Then next minute almost being killed by a Nomu. Pretty scary huh?

Hoshiko: I signed up for that when I decided to become a hero.

Y/N: Weren't you planted here?

Hoshiko: Yeah. Originally, I never wanted to be a hero, even though I had the skill level to pull it off. But-

Y/N: I came along?

Hoshiko nods, smiling.

Y/N: It's great to see you smile.

Hoshiko: I want to be a hero now. Save people from what I had to go through.

Y/N: That. Is a very noble cause.

She kisses your lips and plants her forehead against yours, still looking into your eyes.

Y/N: Well, I gotta go train with Rora. You wanna come too?

Hoshiko: Alright.

A few matches later.

Rora throws punch after punch, his speed increasing rapidly, you float back with ever increasing speed, waiting for him to tire.

His speed suddenly shifts to its base. His hands suddenly slow down, a few multicoloured squares signifying how rigged in your favour the fight was.

Y/N: Come on Hoshi, don't rig the ga-

You are interrupted by Rora's fist in your cheek. You float backwards, his speed no longer blinding. You end the sparring match with a blast.

Rora: You rigged the fight!

Y/N: Hoshi. Don't rig the game.

You say calmly with a playful twist to your tone.

Rora: Are you really going to treat her like a queen? All the time?

Y/N: She deserves it. Trust me.

Rora: Whatever you say.
