Pt. 45 A Healthy Balance

You had been looking around for a few friends for Hoshiko, perhaps Mada, Takagi, or maybe Yoroi.

I mean, they kinda know what it's like, only a bit, they know what it is to struggle.

You approach Mada, having known her well for quite a while.

Y/N: Mada. Hey... Hoshi is looking for some friends, y'know, not having really had much.

Mada: Yeah... look, we don't exactly hate her for y'know, the whole thing with Overhaul or anything, but, me and the girls have noticed that...

Y/N: I'm not doing so well?

Mada: Yeah... and we think it's...

Y/N: Because of her. Well, half right. She has no one else to turn to, so... it is fairly logical.

Mada: But she's been clingy.

Y/N: It's true. I don't want it to be true, but I need some time away... she understands, I think and I promised her some friends to hang out with... so could you help me out?

Mada: Look, Takagi and Yoroi are the social rejects, not powerful, apart from Yoroi or really much special, apparently. I'd have a look with them because they seem like the sort of people who would be able to help her.

Y/N: I was thinking them... but, you're better at this shit than I am.

Mada: Alright. I'll see what I can do.

Y/N: Thanks.

You walk over to your friends, Kaito, Kana, Kasai and Daichi.

Daichi: You actually came.

Y/N: I did say I was going to.

Kaito: Thought you were going to ditch us for Hoshiko again.

Y/N: Kaito, can you stop being salty about my relationship, she's had it hard.

Kaito: Doesn't give her the right to make your life hell!

Y/N: Kaito. While it is true I'm not doing so well, and her clinginess is playing some sort of a role in it, she is not making my life hell!

Kana: I've been trying to get him to stop saying shit about her.

Y/N: Look Kaito. Just don't bring her into this okay? She's had it hard, needed my help and attention, but... I just need to unwind, with you guys. So.. can we not say anything about her?

Kaito smirks and chuckles.

Kaito: Trying to-

Y/N: No Kaito. Stop.

You send a force into him with only word alone.

Kaito: Alright, alright. I'm just hoping, that you see how your relationship might be... well..

Y/N: Don't you say it.

Kana: Kaito. If you're just here to piss Y/N off, then you can get your ass out of here, he's finally getting to hang with us and then it's your chance to berate him for not hanging out with us? It sounds stupid.

Y/N: Whatever. Let's just get to it.

Kaito: Where the hell did Kasai go? He was supposed to be with us.

Y/N: So?

Kaito: Well, we can't have him going into a toxic relationship as well...

He mockingly stated, pointed directly at you.

Y/N: It's not toxic, she's a bit clingy for completely justifiable reasons. She's also understanding when I said that I needed to take a break so... that really doesn't sound toxic to me.

Kaito: You're oblivious to everything, you know that?

To Kana and Kasai-

Kana had found Kasai, sitting on his own, a hand on his cheek.

Kana: What's wrong?

Kasai sighs and begins.

Kasai: That brother of yours, he's too much. I can't really take it anymore. Once he finds out I'm, well... never mind. I should get over it.

His internal struggle seeps through into his physical body, his legs buckling under his weight.

Kana: What's wrong Kasai?

Kasai: Look, I can't tell you, he'll get it out of you if I do, once that happens, well, you only have to look at Y/N to see what's going to happen.

Kana: Dating someone who is broken like Hoshiko?

Kasai: If you have to know, yes. Katana Sako from 1-B. She's great to me, I love her, but... I know what's going to happen... I... want out.

Kana: Of what?

Kasai: This group with Kaito. He'll drive me to blast his face in and I'm not that kind of guy.

Kana: So, you going out to movies or no?

Kasai: No. I just can't deal with him right now.

Kana: Alright.

She walks away, nodding in agreement that Kaito is being an asshole.

Time skip-

The movie was great, a story of an inventor and a man with a quirk of metal.

Kana: Apparently, there's a bunch of other scenes not in this version, I mean those kinds.

Your eyes widen as you think about it a little more.

You had particularly liked the carnival scene, it really did show what they were like as a couple, you had the thought as well.

What if I went with Hoshiko to a carnival?

That would come later, however, you had a whole lot of catching up to do with your old friends.

You all went to get some lunch, talk about your lives at that point and generally hang out.

Kana had really the most interesting life at that point, after all, your life was kind of just class and cuddles.

Daichi was never really the most interesting guy, unfortunately, though you'd never say it to his face.

He laughed along and listened intently, you could see his wonder on his face. You bet he was thinking about whether his life was really enjoyable or not.

Y/N: Daichi, dude, you good. It's fine.

Kana: Hey, Y/N. So tell us about that Nomu you and Hoshiko fought.

Kaito smirks at the sound of her name, you see the smug look and death glare in response.

Yoroi and Takagi had become good friends with Hoshiko already, they'd talked about their struggles in becoming heroes, Aiya not exactly having the most powerful quirk in the game, nor Yoroi actually looking normal. The incident with Overhaul earlier in the year, practically as they had started had given them all the info they needed.

When you returned to see her, she ran towards you with her cute smile still there.

Y/N: You have fun?

You said with your silky and soft tone as you embraced her.

Hoshiko: Yes.

Y/N: That's good.
