Pt. 44 Call Of The Brother

A man looks over the aftermath of the Akita incident. He wears a long coat, black, much like the one he used to wear.

He sees another, he recognised him. Shigaraki.

He jumps down from the building and lands. He walks up to Shigaraki.

Shigaraki: Shit. What do you want?

???: What? I'm not here for you. What happened?

Shigaraki: Your scars, I see they've healed a bit.

???: Not the question. Whose lapdog are you now?

Shigaraki: None For All. I'd not suggest to cross him.

???: I'm not gonna go for him. I know I'm not strong enough.

Shigaraki: You were always the smart one, why did you become a hero anyway? Didn't you hate them with a seething passion?

???: I did. But... one man, or... boy... taught me what a hero was supposed to be. I realised the man who called himself a hero, yet forgot half his family and overworked the other... he was no hero.

Shigaraki: Who was it?

???: Well, I thought you'd know.

Shigaraki: That's right. After we were sent to prison, you went into that rehab program to shave a few years off.

???: Deku and Shoto saw me personally, and to say it brief, it worked.

Shigaraki: Of course.

???: Yeah, they saw hope for me to be redeemed.

Shigaraki: Are you even anyone now?

???: Number 20 ain't bad.

Shigaraki: Sure. You still got it?

???: I sure do.

Shigaraki leaps at him, leading with a punch. The man grabs his arm, at the elbow, holding it straight, and his shoulder. He turned to the side and hyperextended his arm.

???: As I said. Anyways, I have someone I need to see. At the hospital.

Shigaraki fell to the ground as he dropped the chapped man.

Shigaraki: I see. You still have it. So, you go by the same name still?

???: I haven't changed it. Or do you mean my alias, cos that hasn't changed either.

Shigaraki: Still the same are we?

???: Of course I am.

Shigaraki: Ah yes. One part of a phrase, what was it? Entrust to the flames.

???: Yeah. Mother gave it to me. She knew the whole time while dad flailed around, trying to find this 'Dabi' character.

Shigaraki: Yeah. Only to find his son was Dabi all along.

Dabi: After all, I had no heroes to take out after dad retired. He's gone now. He tried after retiring, Fuyumi actually came to kinda like him, so much that she actually cried at the funeral. All those years of high intensity work finally got to him. He aged rapidly, there was no way he was going to live.

Shigaraki: Not like you cared.

Dabi: Yeah. I gotta commend the effort. Like that Taiyo kid, wanted to prove that he could be something other than what everyone saw. Then died before he could.
