You leave the conversation and are stopped before you can head back, the doctor greets you with a blank expression.

Doctor: Something is up. I heard Asui talk about your relationship. Is it something to do with that?

Y/N: Of course not. Meeting Hoshiko is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

Doctor: Right. I've noticed that since Makihara died, you've been down on yourself, any reason why?

Y/N: I was never able to tell him that he was heroic for standing up to None For All like that. I had a chance, but I told him I didn't forgive him at that moment because of how he treated Hoshiko.

Doctor: Right. Hoshiko being the daughter of Kai Chisaki or Overhaul. She's been through a lot, that girl.

Y/N: No shit.

Doctor: You like to defend her, don't you? She's been through a hard enough life in your eyes, hasn't she?

Y/N: What's this got to do with my mental health? I've always been doubtful of my abilities. Ask my mum. She'll tell you.

Doctor: That I will, you're not doing well, I don't even need my quirk to know that. Just, chill the love around Chi-

Y/N: Hoshiko.

Doctor: See? You want my advice? Relax, take it easy around her, she'll be better off for it. Someone will call her Chisaki and she'll accept it as much as her first name. All because she'll have to hear it so many times.

Y/N: You don't know how quickly that can backfire.

Doctor: The Hero Name incident. You put Henka Suru against the wall, because Hoshiko laughed at a remark you made about you having a loving mother and I quote 'unlike you.'

Y/N: Yes.

Doctor: He then told her to shut up, implying that her situation doesn't grant her the privilege.

Y/N: Yeah. I slammed him against the wall, what of it?

Doctor: I could completely understand that. If it weren't for the fact that she didn't react to it. You have to let her get better. Anything else I should know of?

Y/N: Taiyo's in my head. Keeps on saying that I reserve my kindness only for her.

Doctor: That's a fair assessment. I get that you're trying to protect her, but as you've no doubt seen, she can defend herself.

Y/N: How do I get him out?

Doctor: Fulfill what the ghost tells you, I'd say, it's not telling you to die or kill, I'd say it's safe to let it run. It wants you to be a nicer person.

Y/N: Well, thanks doc.

Doctor: All good. You need anything, I'm here.

You leave to go to your dorm room, Hoshiko having practically taken it as her own as well, she still hadn't seen her own.

Y/N: Hey Hoshi. How you doing?

Hoshiko: I'm going okay.

She said weakly, slightly shaking.

Hoshiko: I swear, I'm fine.

She starts to tear up.

Y/N: Babe. What is it?

She points to your wardrobe, you notice the broken window.

You open your wardrobe to see Kana tied up.

Hoshiko: It wasn't me. I swear.

Y/N: It's okay Hoshi, I believe you.

Kana is untied with both you and Hoshiko's help.

Kana: Some fucking ten year old with a fucking beak thing on his face broke in and tied me up. She froze up, she probably knows him, or something. He held her chin and put something in her hand and told her to be a good little girl or some shit like that.

Y/N: A beak thi-

Oh shit.

You run to Hoshiko, throwing your arms around her to comfort her. You rub her back with your thumb, up and down, saying,

Y/N: It's okay. I'm here, he's not hurting you anymore.

Hoshiko: I screamed, I cried. Nothing.

Y/N: I'm so sorry Hoshi. I'm supposed to protect you, aren't I, that once only, I swear.

You start to rock back and forth. You start to sing with a lullaby tone in your voice.

Y/N: Look to these arms, find your place, with these around you, you'll be safe.

You repeat the phrase, over and over, sending her to sleep.

Y/N: You feel safe yet?

She shakes her head.

Y/N: And that's okay. I'll hold you til then, okay?

She nods. You tuck her into bed and assume the role of the big spoon, kissing the back of her neck, your hold, staying soft.

Y/N: I'm sorry.

Kana: I'll get out.

Y/N: Thanks.

You feel her shake, you put a soft touch on her arms, easing them only slightly.

You him the melody of your lullaby again and again and again.

The next day-

You and Hoshiko walk slowly to your hangout spot, a set of wooden seats, around a tree.

Y/N: I'm really sorry you had to go through that.

Hoshiko: It's-

Y/N: Hoshi. It wasn't fine. I almost let you get hurt.

Hoshiko: Okay. Can you forgive yourself? Please? For me?

Y/N: If you need to vent, I'm right here.

Hoshiko: I don't need to vent, I need you to forgive yourself. You couldn't stop him.

Y/N: Okay. You need anything?

Hoshiko: Um, I need to go to the toilet.

She says, looking up at you nervously.

Y/N: Of course babe. You know where I am.

Hoshiko: Yeah.

She kisses your cheek and breaks off to the nearby bathroom.

A few seconds into a conversation with Eri, you hear a scream, Hoshiko sure, but not of pain, or fright, but in anger and conflict.

Hoshiko: I can't betray him! Not after all this! He'll kick your fucking ass!

You hear her throw something across the bathroom.

You go to the doorway.

Y/N: Hoshi! You okay in there?!

Hoshiko: No.

You see through the crack in the door as she opens it, mechanical parts, similar to the earpiece she had before.

Hoshiko: He wanted me to betray you, like I was supposed to. Please, keep me safe. He's going to kill me.

Y/N: Hoshiko. Look up for me, please?

Hoshiko: Hmm?

A smug grin shows itself on your face.

Y/N: Not if I get him first.

You kiss her forehead.

Y/N: I can't guarantee that you'll feel okay the entire time. I can make sure you are safe.

As long as he doesn't have a quirkless guy with him that kicks your ass.

Shut it Taiyo!

Y/N: I'll get him. You won't have to worry anymore, you will, probably, but you won't have to.
