"Why do you try so hard little Kitsuna?" Tai taunted the girl. "Don't you know they'll only disappoint you in the end?" Kitsune growled as one of her twin swords clanged against his mace.

"They're not like that!" She yelled back in frustration. "Why do you hate me so much?!" Du Tai clenched his teeth before giving his answer.

"Because… Father always loved you more than me." His eyes flashed dark green and he grabbed her head in his hands, linking both to his memories.

"Papa! Papa!" A young boy of twelve runs through a field of wildflowers towards an adult male sitting peacefully, watching as the sun set over the horizon.

"Good evening, my son." Tai sat down beside his father.

"Why did you ask me to come here Papa?" The young boy asked curiously.

"I want you to meet someone."

"Who?" The boy wondered.

"Your sister. Tai, meet your little sister. Kitsuna Malum."  Tai looked down and noticed for the first time the little bundle in his father's arms. The girl opened her eyes, and golden  irises stared back into his orange snake-like ones. Her tiny hand reached out to him and grabbed his finger tightly. Tai jumped at the unusual touch. Not only was he not used to being around babies, but this child… This child was not normal. Though her hands were filled with powerful magic that could already easily overcome his own, it did not ring with the familiarity of his or his mother's.

"Why does she not feel like Mother?" The older man sighed deeply.

"That is because she is not from your mother. Kitsuna is your half sister." Tai's mouth dropped in shock.

"You… You had a child with someone who is not my Mother?!" The young boy wrenched his hand away from the tiny girl. The girl's eyes flashed blue as she cried out, and the father cradled the little one gently.

"Setsuna is not my soulmate. Eun-Sook is. She is my little Kitsuna's Mother." The man spoke softly. The little girl quieted down at the sound of his voice.

"D-Don't you love Mother?!"

"Of course I do. Setsuna was there when I was lost, or when I felt deep despair in my younger years, fearful that I didn't have a soulmate. But I have found my soulmate, Eun. And I love her as well."

Tai's fists clenched in anger.

"So are you going to leave us? Just because you found your  'soulmate'?!" Tai asked.  His body shook deeply. Rooted with immense fear of losing the one man he looked up to.

" Kitsuna is not truely of this world altogether."

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

"Whether you have the same mother or not will not change my love for the both of you. I hope that one day you two will live happily as true siblings." Tai stood up unable to control neither his temper nor his powers, shaking the earth as sinkholes appeared at random.

"SHE IS NOT MY SISTER!" Tai screamed, clutching his head as an extremely powerful mind penetration began to cause him much agony. "AHHHHHHHH!" Tai shut his eyes in pain, as if trying to fight back an invisible foe.

"O-Oppaaaa?" The two looked at the little girl who had somehow wiggled out of their father's arms. Her tiny hands were trying to reach around her big brother's legs and she seemed to be in deep concentration. Her white fox ears were present as well as…

"Thirteen tails… Father! She's the one!" His father sighed.

"I know. And that is why I must leave. Never doubt that I love you. Nor that your sister loves you."

"How- What do you mean Father?" The man chuckled as the girl passed out back into another baby nap.

"You were her first word…"

"Oppa." Kitsune whispered in shock as the two fell apart, both breathing heavily.

"I… I had forgotten about that." Du Tai looked up, his eyes now a light shade of orange. He looked up in horror. Looked at his hands and almost screamed. "What have I done?!" He knelt down and grabbed Kitsune's hand to pull her up. "Kitsuna! You are in grave danger! The council-"

A bone chilling male voice almost identical to his interrupted him.

"-We'll take it from here, Du Tailus."  Tai bit his lip as he turned around.

"Unfortunate to meet again, dear brother."
