Chapter 35: Catch-up Lesson

"So, let me get this straight.Your mom was a human... and your dad was a mythical creature who comes from a secret world no one knows about... You are our soulmate AND a reincarnation of an important ancestor-"

"Yoongi, you do realize that if I'm a reincarnation of Alitalia, you and the others are essentially the reincarnation of her soulmate? Or soulmates, the ancient scrolls are a little hard to decipher nowadays."

"Who is Reynar?" Namjoon voiced the unspoken question that had been brewing in their minds. Kitsune grimanced, then sighed.

"Come with me to my room. I'll explain everything. Auntie Kat, I'm going to have to take a rain check on lessons today. We'll be down shortly for dinner."

"As long as you finish the mating. It is very important that you do so. I'm sorry."

Kitsune nodded solemnly and led the boys upstairs.

"Jing, Meng, follow me. Your sister will be done in a few hours."

"Eomma!" Jing corrected her firmly. Meng nodded in agreement as they watched Kitsune and her soulmates climb the staircase to her unique room.

"Miso Reynar has been obsessed with me since we first met in one of the loooong lectures they give for Royalty... Also known as Earth's Spiritual Guardians, Protectors, ect."

Kitsune began to explain her odd history with one of Magix's worst troublemaker.

"Since we were both foxes, (relatively speaking) we were paired up together and sent into the past for a soulmate mission."

"What's a soulmate mission?" Jungkook asked, lifting his head slightly from her furry lap. Her seven pure white fox tails glowed lightly as they moved to and fro on her hanging bed.

"A soulmate mission is when two or more persons are sent on a mission to bring unusual soulmates together, like my parents. They are generally sent in pairs, male and female. Some continue on their mission even after death. Soulmate missions are a very important part of our training and let's us observe first hand the powerful results of a soulmate's bond."

"So like Yin and Yang?" Taehyung spoke suddenly. Kitsune looked at him with odd expression on her face.

"Yes, actually... Like that." Kitsune's eyebrows scrunched up in thought. "I don't know who it could be though. I'll have to talk to Aunt Katalia about that." Hoseok started to hug one of Kitsune's tails as she continued on. "After our successful soulmate mission, we got the highest marks in our class. Many of our classmates wanted  to try soulmate missions in our current timeline,  and since a fair few were granted, Reynar wanted me. Even in our starting classes most of it came easy,  since I was from both worlds and a reincarnate."

"So he basically wants you because you're powerful, smart, and... Well-"

"Yes. And since I was also born a Malum and a Dream Walker,  I've seen my soulmates since birth. Which is you. I've been in your heads since you were born,  and our life threads were stronger than most soulmates."

"Life threads?" Jimin asked, squeezing himself closer beside Taehyung and Jungkook in her lap.

"A life thread means we are connected through our spirits and souls, no matter what time you or I are born in. The stronger the life thread is, the stronger a soulmate bond will be. You know, " Kitsune  spoke thoughtfully,  "These are the kinds of things we first learn. So this kind of seems like a Catch-up Lesson. Anyway, I never really understood Reynar's obsession, and now that he's working for Du Tai... I can only assume that his reward... Is me."

Yoongi sat up instantly.

"No. Not my soulmate." Jin coughed lightly behind him. "Sorry, our soulmate."

"Kitsune, you obviously know what you're doing, and have protected us who knows how many times." Jimin kissed her falling tears. "We are your soulmates."

"Let us help protect you. Starting with finishing the mating." Jungkook stated firmly.

"Are... Are you sure?! I don't want to accidentally hurt you." Kitsune asked the three boys.

"Yes. We are Kita."

"OK."
