Cullens Baseball Game

Indiana's POV

I had Rose cut my hair for me and Alice picked out my outfit for the baseball game. Bella will be joining us. It should be a great fun family day. I grab my umbrella and jacket. I go downstairs. "Ready?" Emmett asks me. I nod my head and hop onto his back. They run to the clearing where we'd be playing baseball. Well they'd be playing. I can't wait until I'm a vampire and can join in on the fun.

I hop off Emmet's back and they start to set up for the game. "Indiana, you and Bella will be our umpires" mum tells me. I nod my head as I play with my family necklace.

Soon Edward appears with Bella in Emmett's jeep. They join us and mum tells her how she's umpiring with me. "She thinks we cheat" Emmett tells Bella.

"She knows you cheat brother" I tease.

"Just call them as you see them Bella. You to Indiana" mum tells us. We nod our heads as they other get into position. The first clap of thunder is heard.

"It's time" Alice says with a smile. She throws the ball and Rosalie hits it with the aluminum bat. A crack like thunder is heard when the ball hit the bat. It's follow by a real crack on thunder as Rosalie takes off running around the diamond. Edward runs after the ball.

"Now I see why you need the thunder" Bella says. Mum crouches behind us ready to catch the ball. As she is the catcher. "That's gotta be a home run right?" she asks me.

"Doubtful, Edward is the fastest in the family" I tell her. Rosalie darts around the bases, almost a blur. I focus on her while Bella focuses on the home base. I hear the ball heading our way and mum catches it a millisecond before Rosalie touches home bask.

"You're out" Bella tells her.

"I agree, sorry Rose" I tell her.

"Whoa ho out!" Emmet yells and Rose glares at him. "Come on babe, it's just a game" he reminds her as dad steps up to bat. He his the ball and makes it to second base while Emmett collided with Edward as they both tried to catch the ball. Jasper steps up next and hits the ball. Emmet scales a tree as dad makes it to third base and Jasper first.

"My monkey man" Rose says smirking. She steps up to bat again. She hits it harder then last time. She takes off running as do dad and Jasper.

"Stop!" Alice shouts and we all freeze. Edward looks at her then the woods. My rush over to Bella and I surrounding us. What's going on?

"You said they left the country" Rosalie says. Is she talking about the nomads behind the vampire attacks?

"They did, but then they heard us and changed their minds" Alice states.

"We have to get Bella and Indiana out of here" Emmett states.

"It's to late" Alice tells him.

"Put your hair down" Edward tells Bella.

"Like that'll help. I could smell her from across the field" Rosalie states.

"Indiana don't leave your mother's side" dad tells me. I nod my head. As we all turn to face the tree line. The three nomads appear. I gulp and move closer to mum. She gives my hand a reassuring squeeze.

"I believe this belongs to you" the vampire wit dreadlocks says holding up our baseball. He tosses it to us and dad catches it thanking him. "I am Laurent, and this is Victoria, and James" he states. Introducing himself and the others.

"I'm Carlisle, this is my family" dad tells him.

"Hello" Laurent says looking at each of us.

"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us" dad tells him.

"Our apologies. We didn't realize this territory had been claimed" Laurent tells him.

"Yes, well. We maintain a permanent residence nearby" Dad tells him matter of factly.

"Really? Well, we won't be a problem any more. We were just passing through" Laurent assures him.

"The humans were tracking us, but we led them east. You should be safe" Victoria adds.

"Excellent" dad says.

"So, could you use three more players?" Laurent asks with a smile. Dad looks unsure. "Come on, just one game" he says.

"Sure, why not? A few of us were leaving, you can take their place" dad tells him. "We'll bat first" he states tossing them the ball. Victoria catches it.

"I'm the one with the wicked curve ball" she brags with a smirk. I notice James eyeing Bella and Edward.

"Oh I think we can handle that" Jasper tells her.

"We shall see" she say and suddenly a gust of wind blows our scent towards them.

"You brought a snack" James says smirking as he eyes Bella. My family gets in front of us and I stand by Bella. Edward snarls at James, who growls back. They didn't smell me? Guess I smell like a vampire after being raised by them.

"The girl is with us" dad tells them.

"We won't touch her" Laurent says trying to defuse the tension.

"Just try it" Emmett says eager for a fight.

"I think it best you leave" dad tells them firmly.

"Yes, I can see the game is over. We'll go now" Laurent states stepping back with Victoria. "James" he says and he stands down wrapping an arm around Victoria as they left.

"Get Bella and Indiana out of here" dad says. We're rushed to the cars and I strap myself into Jasper's car. While Edward straps Bella into Emmet's. Dad, mum and Rosalie get into the car I'm in and start to drive home. While Jasper, Alice and Emmett ran. Edward taking Bella.

"I'm scared" I tell them honestly.

"Nothing is going to happen to you" Rosalie assures me.

"They don't know you're human" mum adds.

"I think we need the pack" dad states.

"We can't trust those dogs" Rosalie tells them.

"They'll kill any vampire that steps foot on their land and can protect Indiana. Masking her scent" he states. "She'll be safe there while we deal with the nomads" he adds. Rosalie goes to protest and I place a hand on her arm.

"I'll be ok Rose, if dad trusts them. So should we" I tell her.

"I'll call them when we get back" he states. We reach the house and park in the garage. "Stay here, I'll go make the call" he tells us. As Alice and Jasper appear in Emmett's jeep.

"Where's Emmet?" Rosalie asks them.

"With Edward and Bella" Jasper answers.

"He'll arrive safely Rose" Alice assures her.
