Greenhouse Excursion

Indiana's POV

The day Edward spoke to Bella she was nearly crushed by a van in the parking lot after the school day ended. Edward saved her with his vampire speed and strength. Bella is determined to find out how he did it as she doesn't believe he had an adrenaline rush. Rosalie is angry at Edward, but only because she's worried about the family's secret and the Volturi. How they'd react to two humans knowing about vampires.

Anyway today is the day of the school excursion to the local greenhouses. I'd received special permission to go to get photos for my Photography power point presentation. I'm doing it on the greenhouses and the plants in them. What helps them grow and how they're looked after. Anyway I'm rode with Emmet and Rosalie to school in Rose's car.

Mr. Molina and a Tour Guide lead us through one of the greenhouses. I'm taking photos as I walk with Edward, Alice and Jasper. Mr. Molina demonstrates the compost machine as some of the students mess around. I take a photo of it.

"C'mon, Eric, stuff that compost down deep... that's it" Mr Molina states as Eric pushes the compost down with a spoon. "Now Tyler, take a big steaming cup of 'compost tea.' This is recycling at its most basic level" he explains. Tyler takes a cup of the compost tea and goes to drink it.

"Hey, don't drink that!" the guide exclaims stopping him. "It's for the plants" he states. Tyler smiles sheepishly pouring it over the plants. Edward and I pause by an ancient stag-horn fern so I can take a photo of it.

When Bella approaches us. "Hi Bella" I say smiling.

"Hi Indiana, can I speak to Edward?" she asks me.

"Sure, I need to go get some more photos of the watering system" I tell her. "See you at the buses" I state. I leave them and start to take photos of the watering system. Not paying attention to where I'm going and bump into someone. Nearly dropping my camera.

"Sorry" we say together.

"No, it's my fault. I was to busy taking photos to see where I was going" I tell the guy sheepishly.

"It's fine, you're Indiana right?" he asks me.

"Yes and you're Tyler?" I ask.

"Yep, hey do you have a date for prom?" he asks me curious.

"No, I was just gonna go with my siblings" I tell him shrugging.

"Or we could go together?" he suggests rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh" I say and think about it. I spot Alice and she nods her head to me. "Sure, but just as friends" I tell him smiling.

"Really, cool" he says smiling. "I'll meet you there" he tells me before leaving. I head over to Alice and Jasper.

"Thanks Alice" I say.

"Hey you deserve a night of partying like a normal human girl" she tells me quietly.

"I know, but thanks anyway" I tell her.

"You had better wear the dress I got you" she tells me.

"You know I am" I tell her giggling and she smiles. "Help me with my hair?" I ask and she nods her head.

"Rosalie will help you with your makeup" she states. I nod my head.

"You got all the pictures you need?" Jasper asks me.

"I believe so" I say looking at the photos I've taken. "Yep, all good and I have all the info I need thanks to the tour" I tell them smiling. "Lets explore a little more, then go back to the buses" I suggest. They nod their heads in agreement.

So we explore the greenhouse some more and I take another couple photos. We then leave the greenhouse as it's nearly time for us to leave. I take a picture of the worm compost box before we head for the buses. I see Edward talking to Bella next to our bus and approach them.

"Hi guys, the buses are leaving soon" I tell them. "Are you riding with us?" I ask Bella.

"No. Our bus is full" Edward says before she can. I frown as he leads me to our bus away from Bella. But he glances back at Bella with a little remorse.

"That was rude Edward" I tell him as we board the bus.

"I know, I just don't want to hurt her" he tells me.

"You're hurting her by pushing her away. Just be yourself, if she really likes you. She'll be ok with you being a vampire" I tell him.

"It's not the simple Indiana, but I promise to try harder and not push her away" he tells me. I smile and the rest of our siblings board the bus. We're driven back to school and Rose drive me home with Emmet.
