Stay With the Pack

Indiana's POV

I sit on the counter next to Rosalie. Emmett has arrived and is helping the others. Soon dad appears with Edward and Bella. "I've had to fight our kind before. We're hard to kill" Jasper states. He'd told me about his past, will parts of it anyway. As he is in charge of my vampire training, so that I'll be ready for anything when I am turned.

"But not impossible" Edward states.

"We'll rip him apart and burn the pieces" Emmett adds.

"I don't relish killing another creature. Even a sadistic one like James" Dad states.

"If he doesn't kill one of us first" Rosalie mutters.

"Don't say that Rosalie, I couldn't live if one of you died" I tell her.

"I'm sorry Indiana" she says.

"This is insane. You can't put yourselves in danger like this, for me" Bella tells us.

"To late" Rosalie tells her.

Edward shoots Rosalie a look, but he grabs two sets of keys off a hook, throwing one set to dad. "I'll run Bella south, while you take Indiana somewhere else. The others will lead the tracker away" he states.

"No Edward, the tracker knows you won't leave Bella. He'll follow you" dad tells him.

"He's right" Alice states. "Jasper and I will take Bella south, we'll keep her safe Edward" she tells him.

"Can you keep your thoughts to yourself?" he asks her.

"Of course" she assures him.

"Come Indiana, we must be quick" dad tells me.

"Ok dad, I hope to see you all soon" I tell my family. They each hug me before I left with dad in Rosalie's car. He drives us towards the reserve. "So the wolves are ok with me staying with them while you deal with James?" I ask him.

"Yes, they understand you are human and know no sane vampire would enter their territory" he states. "You are not to leave their sight until the threat has been dealt with" he tells me.

"I understand dad" I assure him. He soon stops the car and three wolves appear. One black, one grey and one brown. The black one is the biggest, he must be the alpha. We get out of the car.

"Thank you for doing this Sam, I understand the risk you take in protecting my human daughter. I don't know how I'll ever be able to repay you for this" dad tells him. "This is Indiana, I'll call Billy when the tracker has been dealt with" he states. The black wolf nods his head. "Go with them Indiana and d stay with the pack" he tells me.

"Yes dad, please be careful" I tell him and give him a hug. I then cross the creak. I turn to watch him leave feeling sad and concerned. I take a deep breath and face the pack. "Hello, so where too?" I ask them. The brown wolf steps forward and crouches in front of me. "You want me to get on?" I ask tilting my head and he nods his head.

I get onto his back and grip his fur as he stands back up. They take off running through the woods. I smile, this is amazing. I look at them and realize they are communicating. Not just through a mind link though. They are making noises and listen closely.

They were discussing the nomads and wishing they could kill them. I caught two names Jared and Paul. They must be the brown and grey wolf. I also catch them complaining about me smelling like my family and giggle. We soon reach and house they stop. The brown crouches and I hop off of his back.

"Thank you Jared" I say and they all look at me surprised. "Was that wrong? Are you Paul?" I ask and they look even more surprised.

"You were right the first time" a one states and I turn to see a woman with a fresh scar on her face. "I am Emily, Sam's imprint and girlfriend" she states.

"Indiana Cullen, fourteen year old human" I tell her shaking her hand. Soon three men appear in shorts. "Sam, Jared and Paul I presume" I say.

"Yes" one of them says as he hugs Emily. So he's Sam.

"How did you know our names?" one the others asks me.

"I've always had a way with animals and could understand. Even as a little child. I'd spend most of my time in the forests. Reading the backs of animals and talking to them" I state.

"You rode on the back of wild animals?" one asks me shocked.

"Yes, now who is who?" I ask.

"I'm Jared" the second one says.

"Paul" the first says.

"Great, now we all know each other" I state smiling and my stomach grumbles. "Can I trouble you for a bite to ate?" I ask Emily sheepishly.

"Of course not, come on in. I just made muffins, I hope you like blueberries" she says leading the way.

"Love them" I tell her with a smile. We all go inside and I sit at the table. The pack join me and she places a ball of muffins on the table. Jared goes to grab one and she stops him.

"Guests first" she tells him.

"Thank you" I say taking a muffin. They each take one and we start to eat them.

"So you were adopted like the other Cullens?" Sam asks me.

"Sure was, except I was to young to be turned. But I have been training to be turned one day. So that I can be with my family forever" I state.

"You want to be a leach?" Paul asks me.

"A vampire" I correct him. "And yes, it's my decision" I state.

"But the treaty" Jared says.

"It's her decision and as long as they do it somewhere else, I see no reason to break the treaty" Sam states.

"Thank you, we plan on doing it after I turn sixteen. After we leave Forks" I tell them. "Then we won't be back for at least a century, by then I'll have control of my thirst and be on my families diet" I state. "So where will I be staying?" I ask them.

"Here with me" Emily states. "This is pretty much the pack house, I guess you can say. They eat here, train here and have meetings here in human form" she states.

"Any rules?" I ask.

"Stay in the house until we get a call from Dr Cullen" Sam states.

"Keep your room clean and help with cleaning & cooking" Emily tells me.

"No talking to anyone" Sam adds.

"Got it" I tell them. "Want me to help you clean this up?" I ask Emily.

"No, the boys can handle it. While I show you to your temporary room" she states. Paul and Jared groan.But Sam gives them a look. And they shut up. She leads me to the spare bedroom.

"Thank you for letting me stay Emily" I tell her. "I promise to help with whatever you need" I state.

"You are welcome, I'm sure you'll be of great help" she states. "I'm gonna go supervise the boys. Feel free to look around" she tells me. Before leaving. I explore my room and then return to the main room to see Emily cooking.

"Need help?" I ask and she nods her head. So I join her and start to wash the veges. I hope my family deal with James soon, but who knows when I'll be able to spend time with the wolves again. I plan on making the most of it.
