Chapter 5

Tiana took a few days to adjust to using her legs again. It was the oddest sensation. It honestly felt like she was learning to walk all over again. She was happy to regain her freedom. Steve was remained by her side. He also became more aware of his overprotectiveness and gave Tiana the space she needed. It felt as if their relationship grew stronger. They could do anything, as long as they were together. All Steve knew was that he wanted to keep Tiana safe. That's all he wanted. He would do anything for her.

Steve had told them about the phone call from Rheya, they were all a little anxious now. They wanted to bring her down as quickly as possible. She was becoming more dangerous each time they encountered her.  Steve was still upset that he couldn't talk her out of it. Tiana was in a rage when she found out that Rheya called him. She was so frustrated with her life being put in danger all the time because of her. She really couldn't catch a break. Moving to a new apartment will hopefully stop Rheya from targeting her. Deep down she knew that Rheya will find a way to find her.

There was one thought that continued to plague her mind, one she hated to think about but still managed to pop up. Since she became friends with the Avengers, that's when all the chaos had begun. Now that she is in a relationship with Steve, her life has been put in more danger than ever. That's all because Rheya has a grudge against Steve. There was a part of her that told her that she would be safer if she wasn't with him. She kept shaking off that thought. She hated herself for thinking about something so silly like that. She would never break up with him, even though her life has become somewhat of a drama. She loved Steve so much, she would never hurt him like that.

Shaking off that awful thought, she focused on her surprise for Steve. He has done so much for her in the past few days, ensuring she returned to good health. Overall, taking care of her when she couldn't take care of herself. She wanted to do something really romantic for him. She decided to surprise him by taking him bungee jumping, something he always wanted to try as a kid but never ended up doing because of his health issues. Tiana knew this would be the perfect romantic gesture. Even though she was terrified of heights she was willing to do this for him.

Steve was still fast asleep, snoring loudly. Tiana chuckled to herself. She went and placed a kiss on his forehead. He looked so peaceful when he slept, no worries plaguing him. It was nice to see him like this. She wished she could make all his troubles go away. She carefully brushed a strand of hair from his face.

Steve was stirring, slowly waking up. He woke up, groggily, blinking sleep from his eyes. His eyes then focused on Tiana who was gazing at him lovingly. "This is a great way to wake up." He smiled, rubbing his eyes. Tiana smiled, as she gently pecked his lips. He kissed her back, passionately. He then moved on top of her, deepening the kiss. Before they took things further, Tiana subtly stated that she had a surprise for him. "What kind of surprise?" He asked, with a smirk on his face. "Not that kind of surprise, you perv." She laughed, hitting him playfully. "I booked for us to go bungee jumping later today." She grinned, happily. He suddenly pulled away. "What are you serious?" He asked, grinning widely. "I am." Tiana smiled, happy that he was so excited. "I love you so much," he said, endearingly as he pulled Tianan in for a kiss. I love you too!" 

Steve was brimming with joy after finding out Tiana's surprise for him. That was the most romantic thing she had ever done for him. It was something he wanted to do his whole life but he wasn't very healthy when he was younger so he never got the opportunity to enjoy those kinds of activities. He fell more in love with Tiana. He was so grateful to find someone as kind and caring as Tiana, a person he needed in his life. After Peggy, he never thought he could fall in love again. He was being very careful with Tiana, making sure he doesn't get too overprotective. Some days were more difficult than others. He just wanted to keep her safe. His whole world was Tiana. Nothing was more important than her. The one way for keeping her safe would be surprising for everyone.
