Almost a week had passed since the accident. Tiana was feeling better. She couldn't wait to go back to work. Being stuck in the house for almost a week was stifling her. Steve did his best to keep her company, but he had to do some Captain America-related work. Since she was under strict orders from her doctor and Steve, she had to stay at home.
The one thing that kept her going was researching pregnancy. It turned out that she barely knew what truly happens during the pregnancy. It scared her a lot to see how much she didn't know. During the week, she had another breakdown about not being prepared enough for being a mom. Steve reassured her that she would be okay. She hoped she would be. She learned that many complications can occur during pregnancy. Complications such as miscarriages or even stillbirths. Things like that freaked her out.
She knew she would do whatever it took to ensure that the pregnancy went smoothly. Whatever it takes. She made a list of all the things she needed to do. This included prenatal care, where she would need to see her doctor for regular check-ups, take prenatal vitamins, and well as necessary vaccines. The list didn't stop there; she also needed to ensure that her body was in a healthy condition. She needed to make sure she was getting the proper nutrition her body required. She also needed to include regular exercise in her routine. These were some of the basic things that she needed to pay special attention to during the pregnancy.
While contemplating the various aspects of pregnancy, Tiana heard Steve's footsteps coming up the stairs. She got out of bed and ran to him, jumping into his arms. "Well, hello to you, too." He laughed, spinning her around. "I've been going crazy." She said, before kissing his lips. "Uh, I understand. It's hard being stuck at home with nothing ." He sympathised. "I tried to keep myself busy. I've still been doing my research on pregnancy." She added. "Oh, yeah? How's that going?" He asked. "It's going well, I think. I never realised how tough it is being pregnant. I have to be cautious about everything now." She admitted. "Yeah, it's going to be tough but I know you can get through it because you're one of the bravest people I know. You can get through anything." He smiled, kissing her forehead.
Tiana's heart swelled. Steve always knew the tight thing to say. "Thanks, Steve." She said, as she hugged him tightly. "You're going to make a great dad." She complimented. "You really think so?" He asked, grinning. "Of course! No one would make a greater dad than you. It suits you. I think you're going to be adorably overprotective and just dote on our little one 24/7." Tiana explained. "Adorably?" He questioned. "Yes, adorably. It's cute seeing you all protective over me. I can imagine how you would be with our baby." Tiana chuckled. "Firstly, I'm not adorable. Secondly, I'm not over protective. I'm just the normal amount of protective." Steve scoffed, defensively.
"You have become less over protective, I'll give you that." Tiana contemplated. "I still think I'm just protective. Even if I was over protective , as you claim, I think it would be for a good reason" Steve continued. "Okay, you make a good point." Tiana said. "I'm not complaining that you're over protective. It's just that it can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. Sometimes I just need time for myself." Tiana added. "I understand. I tend to go overboard sometimes. That's because I don't want anything to happen to you." He said sweetly, as he pulled her closer. "That's really sweet, Steve." Tiana smiled, hugging him. "Just take it down a little." She added, motioning with her fingers. "I'll try but I can't promise anything." He laughed. "I'll take it." She laughed.
They both heard their phone buzz. They got a message from Nat inviting them over to her and Bucky's house. "She never gives up." Steve laughed. "Nope. That's what I like about her." Tiana agreed. "Yeah, you're right." Steve acknowledged. "I bet Bucky is cooking." Steve laughed. "Bucky can cook?" Tiana asked. "He has to since Nat can't."  "Is Nat's cooking skills that bad?" Tiana asked, stifling a laugh. "It's not just bad, it's terrible." Steve laughed. "I doubt it's that bad." Tiana said, defending Nat. "If you don't believe me, you should try her food yourself." Steve said, trying to catch his breath. "Okay, I will." Tiana said confidently.
