Chapter 21

Tiana finally got an answer. The test was positive. It was official, she was going to be a mother. "Oh, my word, it's positive!" She exclaimed. "This is amazing. I'm so happy! I'm going to be a dad." Steve shouted happily, pulling Tiana in for a hug. "I can't believe I'm going to be a mom." She said, tearfully. "Are you okay? Are you upset?" Steve asked, hugging her tighter. "No, these are happy tears. I'm actually happy." She said, wiping away her tears.

"The truth is, I've always wanted to have kids. I didn't think so soon. Now that I know it's actually happening, I think I will be ready. "  She said, as tears kept running down her face.  "That's so good to hear. So, that means you don't regret it, having this baby?" Steve asked, wiping away Tiana's tears. "No. No regrets at all." She replied, hugging Steve. "That's amazing, I'm glad to hear that," Steve said, picking her up and spinning her around. "We're going to be parents!" He exclaimed, happily. "We're going to be parents!" Tiana reiterated, kissing Steve's lips.

"What are we going to do about our wedding? Do we move our wedding up or postpone it until after we have our baby?" Tiana asked while they lay on the couch together. "Wow, slow down, babe. We just found out that you're pregnant. We don't have to rush. We still have time to figure things out. I don't want you stressing about the wedding. You need to take some time to relax, especially from work, since you have become a workaholic over the past few months. " Steve said, running his hands through her hair.

"You're right. I need to take some time to relax. I have been overworking myself over the past few months. It's not like I get paid for overtime." She admitted. "Exactly!" Steve agreed. "About the wedding, I would really like to start planning it, even if we won't get married right away. I think it will be a great way to help me take a break from work on weekends." Tiana added, thoughtfully. "I agree. It will be fun doing the wedding planning together. We will get to spend more time with each other." Steve grinned, pulling Tiana closer to him. "I like the sound of that."  Tiana grinned as she lay against his chest.

"I think I should call Nat and tell her the wonderful news. I mean, she already half-guessed. " Tiana said, reaching for her phone. "Yeah, good plan. Maybe invite them over for dinner. It will be nice to celebrate with them." Steve agreed.  Tiana nodded as she started dialling Nat's number. Steve then got off the couch. He then mouthed to her, "Would you like some tea?". She nodded, still waiting for Nat to answer. It rang two times before Nat answered.

"Hey Tiana! Is everything alright? Did you end up taking the test?" Nat asked, very quickly. "Yes, everything is alright, and yes, I did take the test." Tiana laughed at her friend's antics. "So, what's the result?" Nat asked impatiently. "I'm pregnant," Tiana said, happily. "Oh wow! Congratulations! That's amazing news." Nat said, happily. "Thank you so much, Nat." Tiana grinned. "I thought I should let you know since you were the one who suggested taking the test. Also, you're my best friend, so I had to tell you first." Tiana added. "Aww, that's sweet. You're my best friend, too." Nat echoed.

"That's not true, I'm your best friend," Bucky said, interrupting the call. "Babe, don't get jealous." Nat laughed. "I'm not jealous, it's just the truth." He added. "Babe, Tiana is pregnant," Nat said, trying to get Bucky to calm down. "That's incredible! Congratulations, Tiana!" Bucky shouted happily. "Thanks, Bucky." Tiana smiled. "Oh, by the way, you guys should join us for dinner tonight to celebrate." Tiana quickly added. "Wait, aren't you guys still at the lodge you booked for a romantic rendezvous?" Nat pointed out. "Oh, you're right. We'll celebrate when we get back." Tiana laughed. "Okay, see you soon! Enjoy the rest of your little getaway." Nat concluded. "Yeah, see you soon, and Thanks, we will. Bye." Tiana added, before ending the call.
