Chapter 8

Tiana was feeling anxious, the feeling that usually overcame her when she was in a plane. She hated flying, it was one of her biggest fears. She didn't know how she managed the trip to the US. She never knew when her fear started but it has been haunting her for a while now. She could feel her breath quicken as the plane started to take off. Steve had noticed Tiana's nervous state, taking her hands in his, giving it a gentle reassuring squeeze. "I'm right here. Everything is going to be okay." He reassured her, kissing the top of her head. She smiled nervously in response. He kissed her hand, letting her know she was safe with him. Tiana took a deep breath and felt herself relax a little.

Tiana was glad Steve was with her, he was the only reason why she wasn't completely losing it. He had a way of making her feel safe in any situation, his love was always protecting her even when she didn't know it, Steve was always protecting her heart. Always. She turned to look at him, she saw the love and sincerity in his eyes as he leaned down to place a gentle kiss on her lips. She kissed him back passionately, feeling herself falling deeply into him. She then reluctantly pulled away, staring into his deep ocean blue eyes. She could see that he was in a daze as well. A smile formed on her lips, happy that she also had the same effect on him as he did on her.

She then rested her head on his shoulder, finally relaxed enough to enjoy the flight.
Soon enough she fell asleep, safely beside Steve. He smiled lovingly, as he watched Tiana sleep so peacefully, it made him happy. He was glad he could ease her anxiety. He kissed the top of her head, reassuring her that she was safe with him. Not long after that, Steve fell off to sleep as well.

When they arrived, they were in awe. They were so excited to start their new life together in a new country. Good things were about to happen. A few hours after they landed, they moved into their new furnished apartment, which was great which meant that they didn't need to bring that much things from the US. Most of their stuff would arrive in a few days. Their apartment was breathtaking, it was small and cozy,perfect for the two of them. They both knew they were going to love it here.

After they had settled in and collapsed onto the couch from exhaustion. Tiana noticed a huge grin on Steve's face. "What are you up to?" She asked, curiously. "Oh, nothing much." His smile widening. She raised her eyebrow, eyeing him suspiciously. "Remember that surprise I told you about?" He asked. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that. I was mad at you for not telling me at the time." Tiana laughed, remembering that night. "You were mad but you were more than happy to put on make-up" He grinned, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously. "Nope, I'm not in the mood for that today, I'm too tired." She said, yawning loudly to emphasize her fatigue. Steve pouted. "Aww, okay. Another day then." He agreed, kissing her cheek.

"By the way, you still haven't told me what the surprise is." She said, cocking her head sideways. "Oh, yeah. So I booked a romantic cruise for tomorrow afternoon. It is one of the most popular attractions in the country and very difficult to book. I thought it would be a lovely way to get to know our new home." He smiled, sweetly, waiting for Tiana's reaction. The way her eyes lit up made him know he made a good choice. He was happy to see her so excited. "Oh my word, that's amazing. I really wanted to go there but I didn't think I would get to go because it is always fully booked. Steve, you are the best. Thank you so much. I love you." She said, ecstatically, throwing herself into his arms and kissing him passionately.

Tiana slowly pulled away and looked into Steve's eyes. She could see reflected in them, she hoped he would see the same. She was so deeply and completely in love with this guy, she wouldn't want to let him go. Even though she had been struggling with certain aspects of their relationship, she didn't want to give up on him. He gave up on her. They had a few issues but they always worked on them, together. She placed her hands on either side of his cheeks and stared deeply into his eyes, gently caressing him. "You're my everything." She told him , as she placed a gentle kiss on his lips. "You're my whole world." He said, reiterating what she said. They then rested their foreheads against each other, enjoying this little moment of theirs.
