"I can't believe I kissed him back when I knew I shouldn't have. What the actual fuck was I thinking? I promised myself I would distance myself from him, and what do I do? I fucking kiss the guy." I complain to Dylan while I lie on my double bed.
"How am I supposed to know what you were thinking. I don't live in your head remember, although, I would very much like that at this moment. Maybe, you want him to be yours more than you thought?" She considers, making me look at her with a confused glare.
"Mils, there's a reason you never forget your first love. You remember your first love because they show you and prove to you that you can be loved in this world and that you deserve it. They show you that you can love. They help you form the person you are today." Dylan explains, making me raise an eyebrow at her.
"You should have studied psychology because you would have been such a great psychologist." I answer her, avoiding the topic that is labeled 'Caine Williams' because I don't want to talk about it. Dylan sighs deeply before she opens her mouth.
"Mils, you might not want to acknowledge this, but you still have feelings for him, and they won't go away like that," Dylan says before rising from the little light pink velvet chair that stands in the corner of my room.
"I know I still have god damn feeling for him, but it doesn't even matter. We're never going to have a shot at a happy ending. Too much has happened for it not to fall apart. Besides, everything is way too complicated and problematic." I answer her, making Dylan sigh softly.
It seems like she wants to say something else, but she bites her tongue and doesn't say it. I don't ask her about it, and we remain silent for a couple of minutes. Immediately, my mind wanders towards Caine.
He looked so attractive sitting nonchalantly in the office with a dark grey suit on that showed his muscles perfectly. The way he leaned forward to hear my answer, and the way he smirked amusingly at my answers, which was utterly annoying, but tremendously attractive.
"I know what we're going to do, Mils. If you're sure there's not a chance there's a happy ending in it for you and Caine, we might as well go out and search for new boys for the both of us." Dylan says, grabbing my arm to pull me up from the bed. I give her a small smile and open my closet to search for the right outfit.
"Wait, what happened to Grayson? You're still his attorney, right?" I ask, searching my closet for the right dress to put on. I have a few dresses that are considered a possibility for an outfit when I go out. They have disappeared to the back of the closet by now as I haven't gone out for a while.
"I'm still his attorney, yes. Nothing happened at all as he isn't very talkative towards me. Yeah, he talks about his actions, but that's it. He's so closed off and mysterious that it's starting to get uncomfortable whenever I'm within his presence." She sighs deeply, and I turn around to shoot her a confused glare.
"I don't know, he never talks to be me aside from talking about what happens. I heard from the prison guards that he doesn't interact with other prisoners and that he's basically closed off from anyone. They also said he only talks when it's highly necessary, but he doesn't talk for the remainder of the time." Dylan explains.
"With all due respect, he sounds like a sketchy guy. Look, I don't know what he's doing in jail, but he sounds like the guy who could actually pull off a crime." I say, making her nod slowly. I turn around to search for the dress I had in mind,
"Well, he says he's not guilty of this crime, and I'm going to have to take his word for it. Though, I can't suppress the feeling that there's more to this man than what meets the eye. Sometimes, he looks at me in a certain kind of way that makes me think he isn't as emotionless as he pretends to be." She says, looking in the mirror.
