Gay Panics

Benji's POV:

I quickly snap back my reply to Nixie before Lucifer, Diavolo and Barbatos walk in, I smile at Akio wondering if she was okay after the embarrassment Nixie had brought on her, she looked at me and smiled.

Diavolo went on saying that he wouldn't keep us long and had to make a quick announcement. I rolled my eyes, I was looking forward to doing art, as Diavolo spoke, I zoned out. I'm worried about Sam and hoping he's not given Ruben much trouble. I've never been away from Sam since I got him. I was starting to feel homesick until I heard Diavolo mention we can go home on the weekends. I felt relief then worry mixed together, where would I stay?

Amanda's landlord would complain to her about it if he finds out and the last thing she'd need is him complaining while studying, as well she's got Sammy and Ruben living with her. I hear students firing questions about not having anywhere to go and that's why they applied. Lucifer shouts getting everyone's attention, clearly he'd woken up on the wrong side of the bed or he's in dying need of getting laid.

I stretch my arms out on the desk hoping not to accidentally poke Kohdor or Nixie, I hardly slept last night and man I'm drained, it's not even the start of school, I wanna bang my head on the table but I really don't wanna draw attention back to mine and Akio's desk.

Barbatos was saying the rules in the hotel were the same as the rules in the dorm, not like I was bothered. I'm not into bending lasses over anyway, but the thought of Kohdor, shit! I quickly brush that thought out of the stupid brain I own, but sadly I'd now given myself and semi, I mentally curse myself, I'm so glad I'm hiding my face on the desk. I'm probably as red as my mother's tomato patch.

Diavolo asks Nixie and Kohdor to introduce themselves. I lift my face off the desk and smile at Nixie's awkward bow, she's adorable when she wants to be. I lean my head on my wrist and listen to their introduction. I chuckle at how Nixie says "Uuurth'' and not Earth. I smiled when Kohdor questioned if the earth is round, they're so cute, after listening to them they seemed to be really close friends. Listening to how they describe their world being flat with a dome reminds me of the dreadful Sunday bible readings I was forced to go to.

I smile when Kohdor says he and Nixie work at an animal sanctuary, it'll give me something to talk to them about. I've never heard of a Halloween moon crab, maybe it's something to look into. Nixie and Kohdor sat back down and looked like they'd breathed a sigh of relief. Next up, I briefly listened to Kamal and Bibby while doodling on my school planner.

Afterwords, was Jesse and Jess, I hear that they're from New Zealand, but what got my attention was he's bisexual, and before I can even stop myself I'm questioning it out loud! Jesse chuckles, he explains himself to Nixie, answers a question then turns and looks at me. I can't help but flush, cringing while avoiding eye contact with him "I like both guys and girls, so I am bisexual. I know not everyone supports people like me, but I want people to know who I am and that I will not back down." he explains, yeah yeah yeah I know this shit. I'm just annoyed I said it out loud. I admire that he's confident about it while I'm terrified of coming out after being beaten and sent to a frigging camp to "fix" me for being the problem child or not a good Christian. The thought of it makes me flinch.

After Jesse and Jess, Akio and I are called up next, I looked at her and gave her a reassuring smile, she looks uncomfortable, she stands up scurrying quickly to the front as I follow her, shoving my hands in my pockets, "Ah, My name is Akio Yuki!" She stutters, bowing her head, the poor girl is embarrassed, she's as red as a radish. "I'm from Japan, I enjoy cooking, reading, cosplay, as well as playing the piano, it's very lovely to meet you all!" She blurts out, bows again the scurries back to her seat hiding her face on the desk, clearly she's not used to all eyes on her, I sigh, just me then.
