TRIGGER WARNING: Panic attacks and PTSD
Akio's POV:
I bolt up again from the same nightmare, same old rubbing my neck to try to wipe away the memory, I turn on the light, hunt for my bed socks when I hear my D.D.D vibrate, what time is it? I walk over to the bedside table, it's a message from Kohdor.
Good night, Akio. Thank you for today. I would've been overly worried if you weren't around
I smile and type back a reply before locking it, I hope he sleeps tonight, I was worried about him when he came looking for me yesterday, asking if I'd seen Nixie, but me and Kohdor pretty much had the same lessons all day, even at dinner he wasn't himself, I hope Nixie is okay.
I skip towards the door, turning off the light as I open it, I tiptoe down the hall as always, I don't wanna wake up Jess and Bibby, this time I check down the boys corridor that Benji is not awake, as much I enjoyed making bento boxes with him, I do not like being touched, not after what he did, I know its not Kohdor's, Benji's, Jesse's or Kamal's fault, but the thought of them touching me brings back the feeling of his touch, the coast is clear, seems all the boys are in bed. Good! They need sleep.
I bolt down the stairs towards the kitchen, this is my happy place, climbing on the kitchen counter, I open the cupboard and pull out the bento boxes one by one, once I get them all out I go back to my moment, steaming the rice, chopping the fruit and vegetables, slicing and dicing to my movements, lost in my own world, by the time I'm filling the boxes I come to Nixie's I remember her walking into the library one day seeing me reading Alice in Wonderland, she had told me it's one of her favorite books, I told her she reminded a little of the Mad Hatter which made her smile. I decided to chop fruits and vegetables as top hats, rabbits, teacups and tried to make sauces, closing up her box I tie a cute bow and write her on the the box, Kohdor can give it to her later, I nod looking at the row of twelve boxes, I place Kohdor's boxes on top of each other tying them together with a bigger ribben.
I hear the door open and Kohdor pops his head around, I smile and he walks in, "Good morning, did you sleep okay? I ask, he nods, my smile fades with the look on his face, he's still worried, "Have you heard anything?" I ask "She fell asleep in Lucifer's office," he whispers "I see," Kohdor's tummy rumbles, leaving him embarrassed. I giggle "Do you want some breakfast?" he nods "I have some left over rice and fruit, will that be okay?" I ask him, he nods. "Coming up."
Kohdor seems happier now that he's eaten, "Thank you," "You're welcome!" I beam, "Oh! Can you give this to Nixie when you see her?" I say handing him her bento box, he smiles, placing his and Nixie's box in his bag, "Thank you," I whisper. Benji walks into the kitchen, the way he wears his uniform triggers me, is it so hard for him to not finish buttoning up his shirt or wear his tie right? Then again the way Kohdor is wearing his uniform right now is annoying me as well, especially him not wearing most of the uniform! Who wears ripped skinny jeans to school, I roll my eyes on how disorganised their uniform is. Benji looks at me then to Kohdor, his face looking sad a little, I wonder if he's worried about Nixie as well? "Simeon is waiting..." he says then he walks out, how odd. I then realise I'm still in my pyjamas! Oh no! "Ah excuse me!" I bow to Kohdor, then dash off towards my room to get ready.
On the way to RAD Kohdor still was quiet, Benji looked grumpy, while Jess and Jesse were lost in chitter chatter leaving Bibby and Kamal trailing behind. It feels weird Nixie isn't here to wind up Benji or Kohdor talking. I have a feeling today isn't going to be a good day.
As we walk into class, Benji sits next to me, Kohdor sits on his own looking out the window, I hear Benji sigh and turn to him, "You okay?" he says nothing, one by one the Demon brothers' walk in and following them is Nixie! I smile at her, but she heads straight to Kohdor, honestly I'm relieved.
