"Should I put my hair up?"
I stood in front of the mirror wondering if I should bother putting my hair up. I'm only going to see my best friend that I haven't seen and heard of for two years. I should look good, right?
"Alright, it's going up!"
I grabbed some of my pomade and quickly styled my hair. Made sure to wear my favorite modern Kimono and my best perfume. Bracelets' on. Wrist watch is working. No holes in my pants in inappropriate spots this time? I think I'm good.
I quickly said my goodbyes to my pets; Pixie, the pink axolotl. Sonic, the hedgehog. Jack, the Halloween Moon Crab. Mini Me, the bearded dragon. Clay, Austin, Ricky and Claire, my dogs. And Ben, Ginger, Lala and Sakura, my cats. I reminded my pal, Brandon, how to take care of them all. Especially Ben, Ben is a grumpy old cat and requires specific care.
I jumped in my pickup truck and started it. I could swear I saw Brandon sweating as I left my house. My pets are definitely going to be a handful but I trust him enough that he'll handle them correctly.

It was a quiet long drive to Nixie's house. I still can't believe it took me this long to track her down, really. She did such a good job covering her traces. Me, the one she used to call her "Best Sniff Dog".
"Hehe..." I can't help but to chuckle to myself. I missed having her around and her weird nicknames she gives to people. I wonder what she's been up to.
I arrived at her place, somewhere in the mountains. Her house is small, covered with foliage. This is too far from civilization but it looked so peaceful. She definitely doesn't want to be found.
I knocked on her door.
