Benji POV:

My alarm rudely wakes me from my dream of being with Sammy. I regret setting it for 4 am, grumpily turning it off. I throw myself up, slapping my checks to wake myself up.

Feeling more ish awake, I stumble out of bed, turn the light on then start to get ready. Grabbing the wax off my bedside, getting a small amount out and warming it up in my palm, running my hands through my hair until I'm satisfied. I snap my bag and DDD and turn the light off on my way out. I look towards Jesse's room, maybe he's still getting ready?

I turn to walk towards the end of the corridor heading downstairs to the kitchen, to my surprise Akio was up in her pyjamas. "Akio?" I say as I drop my bag by the island.

She jumps, dropping a bowl on the floor, "Oh no! Benji, you scared me!"

Oppes, I wander over and pick up the broken bowl pieces, "I'm sorry Akio, I didn't mean to scare you."

When I look up, she's holding her hands out "It's okay, why are you awake anyway? It's 20 past 4 in the morning."

"I'm wanting tonight's tea to slow cook, so I got up to prep it, but it seems I'll be doing it on my own." I hand her the bowl pieces and she wanders over to the bin, throwing it in.

"I see, I take it Jesse was meant to get up as well?" I nod. "Why are you up anyway?" I'm curious if she'd been having nightmares a lot, that's probably the reason she's awake.

She twiddles her fingers together, "Erm, I don't really sleep that well."

"I take it you had a nightmare?" I was worried to ask, but she nodded.

Honestly, I would like to know what's scaring her, just so we could help. I rub her head, which causes her to pout at me. "Benji! Stop it! I'm not a child!" I can't help but smile, she's just too cute to wind up. I stop and head over to the fridge to grab out what I need.

"What are you making anyway?" She asks.

"Liver and bacon."

"What?" I turn to see her blinking at me.

"Then when Bibby and Kamal get back I'm going to make big Yorkshire puddings."

"Yorkshire pudding?" She's never heard of them, that's kinda sad.

"Its pancake mixture with salt and pepper in it, put some oil in a cake baking tray and when they're done, you got a yorkshire pudding." Akio stares at me like I've just grown another head, "You'll see when its ready." She raises her eyebrow then continues with what she was doing before I scared her. I wander to hunt for casserole dishes. Akio points to the cupboard after asking what I'm looking for. She clearly knows her way around this kitchen.

Grabbing five of them, placing them on the island, Akio twists and turns around me as she potters around doing her thing, lost in her moment. Chopping onions and mushrooms, she's now appeared next to me, watching me.

"When did you learn to cook?" She asks.

"I learnt in school."

"You mean you actually learnt things?" I don't know if I should be offended or not?

"In some studies, yes."

"So what you're saying is, you listened in the practical lessons, but not like maths or English?"

"Okay, you got me there cheeky!"

She gave me a cheeky grin, "Can I help with anything? I don't think Jesse will be coming down."

"I don't think so as well, I mean if you could slice the bacon in long strips that would be helpful."

She grabs a chopping board and begins, "How long have you been cooking for?"
