"What does it mean to lose your virginity?"

I immediately choke on the food that I have been eating. I cough a bunch of times and reach for my glass of water and chug the thing.

After letting out a couple gasps to get my breathing under control, I look at Ko who had asked me such a question.

"Why does that interest you?" I ask, my face flushed.

"It's a phrase that has been going around the community recently. No one knows what it means. I thought that you could enlighten me."

I hold my hand up. "Trust me, you don't need to know what that means yet."

"Does it have something to do with how a human male and female put their bodies together or something?" Ko asks.

"So you already know," I sigh, "Well? How many parasites have done it?"

"Done what?" Ko asks.

"Nevermind," I reply, "I think everyone should keep quiet about this stuff. This isn't something you should strike a conversation about with anyone. Especially just out of the blue like how you just did."

"Is it a bad thing?" Ko asks.

"No it's not really a bad thing," I state, "But it can be bad in some cases."

"Hmm, what should I tell the parasites regarding this topic?" Ko asks.

"Just tell them they don't need to know yet. The time will come," I reply.

XXXXX

"So that's what happened," I say.

Lynn sits in the bed with her legs crossed and she bobs from side to side. She then lets out a devious grin.

"No, don't say it," I say.

"Awww," Lynn complains, "You're not even going to let me suggest sex-Ed?"

"And you still say it," I say, placing my face into my palm.

"I mean we should at least inform them about it," Lynn says.

"No, that's probably a bad idea," I say, "You know how intuitive they are. If they get an idea they'll stop at nothing to accomplish it. That's how we managed to make everything we have and maintain everything."

"A good example is that wind turbine. They literally constructed prototypes within weeks."

"I'm not about to have a surplus of babies when we don't even have the proper technology and resources to support it."

AH yes, this topic about children, babies, and other forbidden stuff. Lynn and I are rather informed about it because of the doctor. While Papa has forbidden knowledge of such topics, we knew them anyway.

"Okay, we teach them about protection," Lynn says.

"No! We can't give them any ideas," I say.

"But we do it all the time, I don't think that's fair," Lynn says.

"So what if we do it?" I say, "Why should we tell the others about this knowing how bad it can turn out for them?"

"Because it feels good," Lynn says with a straight face.

"We've done it enough to the point we know how to prevent a pregnancy. But those parasites can mess up," I say, "Trust me, it's for their safety. For now at least." I cringe at the thought of pregnancies since that doesn't really apply to us. Just a useless word in our case.

"They're missing out on important events of their youth, their 'first time,' you know?" Lynn says.

"I should've never gotten you all that manga," I sigh.
