Finally got this chapter out. The finale is near. The end of this journey is coming.
XXXXX Kokoro XXXXX
This will certainly be the final battle.
Kokoro and Mitsuru stand among the many parasites that remain on earth, with Zero Two in front of them. They all watch as the Klaxosaur mothership departs, followed by hundreds of Klaxosaur vessels.
That is what everyone wants to believe. But while everyone else is in doubt, a different emotion had begun to surge within me,
and I have no idea what to do about it.
"Why did you stay behind?" Kokoro asks the boy beside her, "You could've found another partner and gone with everyone else."
"I stayed because I wanted to," Mitsuru replies, "I have a responsibility to see this through."
"A responsibility?" Kokoro asks, "Even when you don't remember a thing?" Kokoro looks down, fidgeting with her fingers.
"I told you that I don't expect anything from you. So don't worry about me."
Mitsuru glances at Kokoro before turning away. He feels rejected by Kokoro's words.
Meanwhile, Zero Two stares blankly towards the sky. Her bandaged body never moving, like a statue.

"We're carrying everyone's hopes with us," I say, "We better win this fight for them."
"It's a given that we should win. This is us we're talking about," Lynn says.
Zorome screams in the distance as Argentea soars through the vast expanse of space. Argentea makes a sharp left.
"Zorome, are you okay?" Argentea asks as she slows to a stop. Zorome is breathing heavily within the cockpit. "These are some crazy Gs that I'm feeling," He replies, "I can feel my insides crumpling up."
"And that is after the G-Canceler is abating most of the force." Goro says. "Seriously? I'm really gonna have to tough this out?" Zorome says.
"I don't know why, but this all feels right to me," Chlorophytum says, "I can move more freely than before." Chlorophytum is hovering with Argentea and Delphinium.
"Yeah, fighting in space should be no problem!" Argentea says.
"Check out these weapons too," Futoshi says, "With identical weapons, we finally look like a real team."
"We've always been a real team, so what are you even saying?" Zorome says.
When we boarded the Klaxosaur mothership, it began modifying our franxx. That is all of Squad 13, and not the Unicornius and the three M9s.
Squad 13 is now equipped with thrusters on their waists, and modified legs to stabilize them and give them more control in the realm of zero gravity.
In terms of appearance, they all still sport their unique colors, except now their base color is a dark gray, like the Klaxosaurs.
A streak of silver passes by the three franxx, appearing like a mere blur.
"Well, let's not get cocky now. You're all on a brand new battlefield," I say, "You gotta watch out above and below."
The Unicornius, in her True Union form, slows down and twirls around as she stops. She then floats back to the group.
"But this is no problem for us," Lynn says, "We've been through airborne combat." "We belong to the skies," I say.
