Hey, Beckie!
I was wondering if you wanted to meet up with us (that's me, Nora and possibly your brother (he hasn't answered yet)). We'd probably just go into town and wander around a bit, maybe do some shopping.
Please answer quicker than your brother
Charlotte
I was delighted. The last time I had seen Charlotte and Nora was when I was in the hospital which was a while ago. I ran up to my room and started writing a reply.
Hi, Charlotte
It's nice to hear from you. It's been a while, hasn't it? I'd love to meet up with you guys and catch up.
Beckie
As I was finishing up my letter someone knocked on the door.
"Hey, Beckie. Long time no see." The person at the door said.
"Hey..." I said while turning my head.
"... Nora! Oh it has been ages, I was just writing to Charlotte. Anyway, what are you doing here?" I asked, looking her up and down.
She hadn't changed much. Her hair was as tidy as ever, if not more so. Her silver hair was tied back into a sleek ponytail.
"Oh I was just checking up on Yami."
"You guys get double beds? No fair!" She complained, looking around my room.
"No, just someone in the squad playing matchmaker." I said half smiling.
"Ooh, do tell." Nora demanded, eyes sparkling.
"No. Remind me later when we're with the others, I can't be bothered to tell it three times."
"Boo. Something's different about you but I don't know what." She started surveying me.
"You're wearing a T-shirt with short sleeves and some shorts, now what's so weird about that?"
Just then Luck jumped through the window. He strolled over to me planting a quick peck on my lips before walking out the door again.
"Hang on. Can you do me a favour, Luck?"
"Of course! Anything for you, princess."
"Can you deliver this letter to Charlotte Sukehiro of the Silver Eagles?"
"Ok!" He said, giving me a cheery smile before running off again.
"Aha! I figured it out. You're wearing a short sleeved T-shirt! You never do that. Does this mean you've finally come to peace?"
"Huh? Oh yeah I'd completely forgotten."
"So.... Who was that boy?" Nora asked, catching me by surprise.
"Oh, um th-th-that was my uh... roommate?"
"Anything you're not telling me?"
"Like what?"
"Oh I don't know, like why you're bright red right now and why you're supposed 'roommate' just kissed you."
"But he really is my roommate!" I said
"He just might possibly, slightly be my boyfriend too." I whispered quietly, hoping Charlotte wouldn't hear me.
"Boyfriend? Finally! How long has it been, Beckie? 18 years as a single Pringle?"
"For Faris it was 26."
"He still got his first. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. When did you start having feelings for him?"
"I'm not really sure but one day I realized I was thinking about him, and I began to wonder how long he'd been on my mind. Then it occurred to me: Since I met him, he's never left."
Nora was just sitting there her eyes sparkling so hard they reminded me of the Wizard King when he discovered a new type of magic.
"That's sooooooo cute!! What do you see in him?"
I just smiled and looked away, afraid that if she knew, she'd fall in love with him too.
"Beckie, I'm back and I already have an answer." Luck popped back in, through the door this time.
He handed me the letter and I read it through quickly.
Beckie!
Your calendar is now free, your boyfriend (WHAT?? BECKIE HAS A BOYFRIEND?!) blabbed so much. Come to the fountain as soon as you read this. That's an order!
C
"Well I best be off then. Do you want to come with me, Nora?"
"Hell yeah!"
A few minutes later (thanks to Finral's spatial magic) we were all at the fountain, Faris had managed to come too, so I was braced for some embarrassing stories.
"I still can't believe that little Beckie finally has a boyfriend." Charlotte remarked, shaking her head making her hair even messier.
"I still can't believe Nora thought you were going on a date with Yami, you're basically him if he were a girl." I replied, trying to distract from the current topic.
"A. That was ages ago and B. That has nothing to do with what we are talking about right now. Anyway we're going to rapid fire some questions at you ok?"
"Ok, but you all only get one. Otherwise I won't answer any."
Charlotte gave me a scrutinizing look.
"Fine. Name." Charlotte started
"Luck." I replied.
"Birthday." Faris continued.
"11th October."
"Ooh, it's my turn. Give me a second..."
Nora thought for a good two minutes before actually asking me the question, which was:
"Did he kiss you first or did you kiss him first?"
"I kissed him first."
My face was so hot that I had to go to the fountain and dunk my face in it to cool off. As I wandered back over to the group everyone was giggling, I immediately knew who was behind this.
"Faris, what did you do?"
"Nothing just retelling the story of our first meet-up after the exams."
"You didn't!" I shrieked, deciding to get revenge.
"So, Faris, how's Fueggy?"
He just stared at me, his eyes bulging.
"Fueggy?" Nora asked, interested.
"Oh didn't he tell you, he's dating the-"
Faris covered my mouth with his hand but I carried on anyway, hoping they'd be able to understand me.
"-cwaptain of the Cwimson Wions."
By the time we were saying our goodbyes everyone had had to run to the fountain to dunk their face into it. During the afternoon a brunette had joined us, introducing herself as Rebecca, a member of the Crimson Lions and the girlfriend of the fearsome Mereoleona Vermillion.
Thinking back to it now, that had been one of the best mornings ever.
