The Untold Romance

Nagpapahinga si Ev sa rooftop ng hospital kung saan siya nagtatrabaho. It was a very toxic day for her dahil sa sunod-sunod na admission ng mga pasyente. They were given an hour lunch break ngunit wala siyang ganang kumain kung kaya't she found herself hanging around sa rooftop.

"One year na pala since that trip," napabuntong hininga si Ev, "it's also been a year already since he hadn't contacted me, ni hi or hello wala man lang."

When she came back from Thailand ay nakailang message siya kay Bank using her own account ngunit wala siyang natanggap na response from him. Kaya pagkalipas ng anim na buwan ay she decided to just give it up and stopped.

She took out her phone and scanned her gallery of photos. After a minute, she finally found a picture she took of him. Strange.

Nag decide na siyang pumikit na muna at makapag power nap bago bumalik sa emergency room. She plugged in her earphones and listen to a song she just discovered.

"I wish they were all just my imaginations, edi sana hindi ako na-fall ng ganito," bulong ni Ev sa sarili. "Eh, tangengot kasi, na-fall ka agad sa isang lalaking tatlong araw mo lang nakasama." Panunumbat niya rin sa sarili.

Her mind was so caught up with her thoughts of the events from a year ago when her phone started vibrating, "hello, Nurse Anne?" Sagot niya sa tawag.

"Sorry Nurse Lisse, I know it's your lunch break right now but can you assist in here? We have some crazy admissions now," Nurse Anne was her head nurse.

"Well, back to reality Ev, time to get up and work," saad niya sa sarili sabay tayo at tumungo na sa elevator.

"Nurse Lisse, please attend to that patient," pag-iinstruct ni Nurse Anne sa kanya ng marating niya ang emergency room.

Sinundan niya naman ng tingin ang tinuro ni Nurse Anne. The patient was a young woman na sa tantya niya ay halos magka-edad lang sila. Ngunit unlike her, maganda ito at mukhang may kaya sa buhay.

Lumapit siya dito habang ine-examine ng attending doctor ang kalagayan ng pasyente. Walang malay ang pasyente kung kaya't di niya mapigilang mapatitig dito. Namamagnet siya sa kagandahan nito, ang kinis at parang Korean Idol ang dating.

"Nurse, schedule an x-ray examination for her," saad naman ng doctor sa kanya.

"Yes, Doc!" At dali-dali na siya pumunta sa x-ray section at nag set ng schedule. After that, ay bumalik siya sa pasyente.

Wala parin itong malay kung kaya't ang kasama nito ang tinanong niya ng mga detalye tungkol sa pasyente upang ma-process ang admission papers.

"Hi! Kaano-ano niyo po ang pasyente, Sir?" She asked.

"Sorry, I couldn't understand your language," the guy answered.

"Oh sorry, sorry. I am asking if how are you related to the patient, Sir?" "Bwenas, mapapalaban na naman ako sa englishan nito ah."

"Oh, I am her bodyguard. Her name is Ms. Natheerin Kitiyakara from Bangkok, Thailand."

When she heard the country, bigla siyang napatigil sa pagsusulat. "Bakit hindi Hongkong o Vietnam, bakit Thailand pa?" Okay, ako ng affected parin. Tss.

"Okay, how about her age sir?" Patutuloy siya sa pagtatanong.

"She's 26 years old," sagot naman ng body guard ng pasyente.
