"What's gotten into you?" Beomgyu's dad asked when he entered the house. "You've been acting weird, you snuck out last night, and you had detention?"

Beomgyu sighed and set his bag down. "It's nothing."

"It's nothing?!" Beomgyu flinched and his dad rolled his eyes. "So now I'm the worst dad ever right?"

"I never said-"

"There are a lot of worse parents than me! Just because I'm scolding you doesn't mean I'm a bad parent!"

He stormed out right when Beomgyu's mom walked in and she looked at him. "You got detention for talking to someone who's considered to be a "bad boy"?" She asked, walking over to sit next to him on the couch.

"He's really nice."

"It makes sense why you've gotten into trouble then."

He sighed and got up to leave, ignoring the yelling of his name from behind him. He did have good parents. He just assumed that since he was always a good kid, they were disappointed in what happened today.

He just talked to Taehyun. Yeah it was during class, but it was important.

After contemplating on a place to blow off steam, he decided on the waterfall again. He didn't think that Taehyun would be there, which is why he was surprised to see a blonde boy skipping rocks across a calm part of the water.

"Hey," he said, gasping when Taehyun turned around. "Wh-what happened to you?"

Taehyun shrugged and wiped off more blood that was flowing from the cut on his black eye. "My everyday life happened."

Beomgyu looked away from the sight, feeling ashamed of himself for having such a weak stomach. "What do you mean?" He asked, sitting next to him in the spot from last time.

"I'm just clumsy."

Rolling his eyes, Beomgyu took a napkin out of his fanny pack and started gently wiping away at the blood all over Taehyun's face, trying not to be weirded out by the substance. "Clumsiness doesn't lead to a black eye. I don't think."

Taehyun chuckled a bit and nodded. "My dad was just in a bad mood today."

Beomgyu bit his lip and looked at the water. What was he supposed to say to that? Well, maybe the best thing was to just act gentle and curious about it.

"Your dad did this?"

"Yeah. It's fine though."

"You have blood coming out of your face and your eye is red and purple. It's not fine."

Taehyun sighed and looked at him. "Don't get into it. Please." Beomgyu stopped talking and Taehyun thanked him. "You want a black eye?"

"No..."

"If you date Hyunwoo, he will give you plenty. He acts just like my dad."

"Then your dad must be really kind." Taehyun immediately stood up to leave and Beomgyu panickedly did the same. "Wait! No, I'm sorry! Hyunnie, I didn't mean it like that."

"Don't you dare call me that. You have no right to," he snapped, yanking himself away from Beomgyu and storming out of the woods.

Beomgyu stood there for a second before running to his car to look for him.

The man who opened the front door was way to tall. He smelled like alcohol too, which didn't surprise Beomgyu one bit considering he hurt Taehyun.

"I need to see Taehyun. I'm his friend from school."

"My Hyunnie, someone from school is here to see you!" His dad yelled in a mocking tone.

His dad called him that nickname? That explained why he didn't like it.

"What?" Taehyun tiredly asked, sighing when he saw Beomgyu. "What is it?"

Beomgyu grabbed Taehyun's hand to pull him outside and closed the door. "I didn't mean what I said."

"I know you didn't mean it," Taehyun yawned and rubbed his eyes. "It was just a stupid thing for you to say."

"I know, and I'm so sorry."

Taehyun couldn't say no to his face, no matter how much he wanted to. "It's okay. We were both overwhelmed in that moment." Beomgyu hugged him and Taehyun melted into it. "And I know it's gonna make you mad, but I don't like Hyunwoo. I can't control who you hang out with, but I don't like him. I wish you could see what I see too."
