48. Break-In

*A few days later*

Date: April 15th

"How does it feel to have so many people interested in your life?" Beomgyu asked.

After a long day at school, the two of them sat in Beomgyu's car in a Wendy's parking lot eating Frosties. And while this was something Beomgyu was curious about, Taehyun didn't really have a definitive answer.

"I don't really know. Everybody's attention has always been on me out of fear. This isn't really much different."

Beomgyu nodded, but he was so curious about a lot of things. Taehyun wasn't super open with him. He never has been open about some things, which is perfectly fine with Beomgyu. But he had questions, and Taehyun seemed to be okay with answering them at the moment.

"Have you talked to Nari at all?" Taehyun shook his head. "Why not?"

"I'm scared..." he looked down at his spoon that had ice cream on it and let it pour back into the cup.

"She seems nice though." He shrugged.

"Yeah, she does. That's the issue. I've just..." he sadly laughed a little bit. "I've obviously never had a kind family member. She just confuses everything."

Beomgyu nodded. "That makes a lot of sense. This entire time, you've felt like you had no family to go to, and all of a sudden, your mom's sister shows up? I knew she looked like you when I first saw her." After a few more moments, Beomgyu leaned over to give him a kiss on the cheek. "We'll figure it out, okay? We always do."

Taehyun hummed and grabbed Beomgyu's chin to gently kiss him. "We should go do something."

"What?"

"This is bad," Beomgyu shook his head while Taehyun picked the lock to their school's gym exit.

It was nighttime and Taehyun looked adorable in a black beanie, but neither of those things were enough to calm his nerves at the moment.

"Come on. After everything we've been through, we can have a little bit of fun to ourselves. And I've had to break into a lot of places in my life, so you don't have to worry about us getting caught."

Well, they would've had to worry about being caught if Taehyun didn't take the flashlight from him. Beomgyu kept pointing it out into the street and Taehyun finally decided he would hold it.

"What do you wanna do when we get in there?" Beomgyu asked, gasping when Taehyun was able to open the door. The boy kneeling on the ground looked at him with a proud smile and Beomgyu playfully rolled his eyes.

He could never resist Taehyun's adorableness.

"Well, I was thinking we could use the huge area for hide and seek or something like that. And then maybe talk and lay down and stuff..." he grabbed the bag that had blankets in it and walked inside with Beomgyu following.

"You seem kind of nervous..." Beomgyu said, walking into the hallway with him. "Is something bothering you?"

"I've just been meaning to tell you something important. And it's not what I'm going to say that's making me nervous. It's what I need to ask following it."

"What is it? It's okay."

Yeah, it's okay. It's great actually. But it could be going too quickly and-

Taehyun didn't realize he was thinking out loud until Beomgyu stopped him.

"Taehyun," he laughed and placed his hands on the boy's shoulders. "What is it?"

"Tomorrow's the move-in date for the new apartment I found. And I was gonna ask if you wanted to live with me because I know that living with Kai stresses you out because you feel like you're taking advantage of his friendship."

Beomgyu stood there for a few moments in shock before he grabbed Taehyun's hand and started leading him quickly through the hallways to the auditorium. Taehyun decided not to ask him what was going on. Beomgyu was definitely up to something mischievous, and Taehyun was just as excited for it as he was curious.

When they made it to a dressing room backstage, Beomgyu took one of the blankets and laid it down before hugging Taehyun tightly.

"Cute," Taehyun smiled, eyes widening when Beomgyu started passionately kissing him. "Wait why are you- so agressive..." he giggled and stared up at Beomgyu who had just pushed him back onto the blanket-covered floor. "Really? Here?"

He looked at him with an adorably surprised face and Beomgyu sat on the floor next to him feeling embarrassed now. "Nevermind."

"Wait, no..." Taehyun sat up and started kissing his neck. "We can if you want."
