20. Half-Brother

A/N: He's sexy.

Date: December 24th

"Taehyun, we invited your father over for Christmas Eve dinner."

Those were probably the worst words Taehyun had heard in a long time. He hadn't been talking to his dad. At least, not in person. And when Beomgyu's mom said that, it freaked him the fuck out.

When Beomgyu also found out, he paced around his room while Taehyun sat on the bed panicking.

"What if he starts something?" Taehyun asked. "And your parents don't like me anymore?"

"Then maybe my parents can help you out of this."

"I can't..." Taehyun sighed. "I can't take him out of my life. He has something that I need."

"What?"

Taehyun wasn't planning on mentioning any of this to Beomgyu. It was always something that was at the back of his mind anyway unless he had thoughts of putting his father in prison.

"He's the only one who knows the password to a safe. The safe has pictures and videos of my mom before she died. It's the only information I'll ever have of her."

"Why doesn't he just give it to you then?"

"He's using it to get me to stay."

That unfortunately was not surprising.

When Taehyun's dad arrived, the boy was confused to see him actually acting decent towards everybody. Even to strangers he wasn't usually kind.

"It's so nice to meet you!"

"You too. I always love meeting Taehyun's friends' parents."

Mr. Choi looked at Taehyun in confusion and then nodded when he realized his father didn't know he had a boyfriend.

"Beomgyu's brother is arriving soon. He just got off his plane. We should sit down and get to know each other," Beomgyu's mom said, gesturing toward the sitting area in the living room.

Taehyun's eyes widened.

Beomgyu has a brother... and he never mentioned it before.

(A/N: It talks about him at the beginning of the first chapter lol)

Before Beomgyu could follow them to the living room, Taehyun grabbed his arm. "You never told me you have a brother."

"I just... never really thought of mentioning him. We have different dads and he lived with his throughout our childhood. He visited us on the weekends though."

Taehyun was so confused, but just went to go sit with them while waiting for this mysterious man to arrive. By the time he did arrive, Taehyun's eyes were in pain from how much he was rolling them while his dad was talking.

Beomgyu's mom went to open it and loud laughing and greetings were heard in the foyer.

"Mr. Choi," a black haired boy with red highlights bowed while shaking Beomgyu's dad's hand.

Beomgyu stood up from the couch and the boy's eyes widened. "Yeah, I'm taller than you now short stack," Beomgyu laughed and hugged him. "Taehyun, this is Choi San. San, this is Kang Taehyun."

Taehyun shook his hand and then tilted his head. "How come you guys have the same last name? Did you get your mom's last name?"

"No. Our dads just both had the same last name," Beomgyu laughed and pulled them both to the kitchen. "This is my boyfriend."
