"And if you tell Taehyun about it, it'll only be worse for him, Beomgyu."
Those words that Hangyeol reminded him of a few minutes later rang through Beomgyu's ears as he went to sit down in Drama.
"I'll see you after school. Love you," Yeonjun smiled and kissed Soobin before the younger left, and Beomgyu's heart panged in his chest.
He couldn't tell Taehyun or anyone else about it, which made him think he was left with no other choice.
"Hey. How have your classes been since lunch?" Taehyun asked, kissing him on the temple before sitting down. Beomgyu rolled his eyes and his heart was closer to breaking when Taehyun looked hurt by the action. "Okay... I assume they went bad. Wanna talk about it?"
"No."
Get Taehyun to hate you so it won't break his heart as much.
That was much easier said than done.
"Come on. What's on your mind Gyu-"
"Can you just shut up for two seconds? I said I don't wanna talk about it! God!" He grabbed his things and moved away, absolutely refusing to look at the damage he was causing on his soulmate. "It'll be okay," he whispered to himself, trying to pay attention to the teacher.
Taehyun will be okay, right?
*The next day*
Beomgyu heard the loud sound of a motorcycle outside of his house and sighed before going to the front door and opening it. Taehyun walked up and Beomgyu looked down when the younger wrapped his leather jacket around him.
"There. Now you're trapped. Now you have to talk to me."
"No..." Beomgyu grumbled.
"You've been ignoring me and my texts since yesterday," Taehyun said, picking up his jacket that Beomgyu threw in the foyer. "It's not fair." He followed him further into the house and gulped when Beomgyu stopped him.
"You know what isn't fair?" Beomgyu asked, stepping forward and making Taehyun step backward towards the door. "That everyday of my damn life now, I have to live in fear. Whether it's fear of other students at school, your father, or my own boyfriend! I shouldn't have to be afraid of you."
"I haven't gotten into any fights recently..."
Beomgyu bit his lip and then quickly shook his head. "It doesn't matter. You had to promise yourself that you would never hurt me. You know how fucked up that is? You shouldn't have to tell yourself not to. It should be common sense."
He was going too far.
He knew he was going too far.
What happened to "Taehyun keeping his promise was another step to him taking care of himself"?
Taehyun looked down. "Are you joking or are you telling the truth?"
"It's the truth..."
Taehyun nodded and smiled a bit. "Okay." He turned to walk out the door, but turned to face Beomgyu one last time. "This entire time, I thought you were the most innocent human being alive. I thought you would never do anything to intentionally hurt someone who had never hurt you. But the moment I have sex with you, everything's gone? Just like that?" He looked at Beomgyu and chuckled when he saw the older boy looking down at his feet. "And to think that I was stupid enough to believe I finally had someone I could call family."
He walked out and slammed the door behind him, and Beomgyu finally started balling his eyes out.
