A/N: OKAY OKAY. Because some people were confused, let me explain. The girl we first see at the end of the last chapter is Taehyun's aunt. She's going to see Taehyun's mom who's been in a mental hospital for nineteen years like she said (AKA HOW LONG TAEHYUN'S BEEN ALIVE). NONE OF YOU KNEW THAT SHE WAS IN THERE. NO ONE DID. This entire time, Taehyun has been thinking she died giving birth to him. Low and behold, she's alive. Dun dun DUN. It'll explain it more in the future lol. Don't worry.
That was just the explanation for the end of the last chapter. Not anything else.

Beomgyu ended up falling asleep with his head resting on Taehyun's bed. He fell asleep holding his hand, being able to rest peacefully when the nurse came in at 4 a.m. and said everything was alright.
It was only when he heard a quiet, broken voice that he woke up.
"Gyu," Taehyun whispered, bringing his free hand up to rub his eyes.
Beomgyu immediately woke up, yawning and leaning over to kiss Taehyun's temple. "Hey Sweetheart," he said, keeping his freaking out inside his mind to not scare Taehyun. "How are you?"
Taehyun blinked a few times, looking to the side to avoid eye contact for some reason. "What happened? Where's my dad? Why am I in the hospital-"
"Shh, it's okay. I um..." he thought for a moment and sighed. He shouldn't have felt guilty. Getting Taehyun out of that situation was the right thing to do. "Your dad's in jail now."
Taehyun's eyes widened. "What do you mean? What about the safe and-"
"I'll figure it out," Beomgyu said. "But I couldn't let you continue suffering." He sat on the bed and laid his head on Taehyun's chest. "I'll figure out how to open it. I'll do anything you want. I'll give you anything you need. I just need you to know that I did it to help you. Please understand."
It was a lot to handle after just waking up. Not only that, but the last thing he remembered before being knocked out was his dad screaming at him for getting into a fight.
It was Beomgyu who put his dad in prison?
"But..." he whimpered and Beomgyu gasped when Taehyun brought his hand up to his face to start crying. "I want my mom," he said in the most pitifully sad voice and Beomgyu hugged him tightly.
Taehyun kept hiccuping, making his crying all the sadder to Beomgyu who had to use all his strength not to follow with his own tears.
"I know," he whispered. His father hurt him so much, that he was begging for his mom who he had never even met. His mom who was gone now.
Beomgyu wanted to do everything to give him a little piece of her.
After finally getting him to calm down, he still laid there on the bed with his head resting on Taehyun's chest. He couldn't move. He was too deep in the comfort that was the only thing he had left. The only person he had left.
Taehyun didn't say much over the course of the day. It was Friday, but Beomgyu stayed by his side the entire time. He couldn't bring himself to leave, no matter how much Taehyun's sadness was hurting him.
He was able to leave Sunday evening after everything was alright, quietly buckling his seatbelt after Beomgyu helped him into his car. "Do you wanna go get food?" Beomgyu asked, putting his on too and looking at the blonde for an answer.
All he got was a small shrug though and he frowned. Where were Taehyun's words? Where was his bright smile? Where was the sliver of hope in his eyes that used to be there? His dad was gone. His eyes should've been filled with hope. But there was nothing.
Was it because of his dad? Did his dad seriously emotionally hurt him this time? Or did he cause it by putting Taehyun's only blood relative in prison?
"I want my mom."
Finally, Taehyun spoke. The only line he's said in over forty-eight hours. He said it again. Beomgyu hesitantly reached over to grab his hand, sad when Taehyun didn't react to it.
God, what happened to him?
They made it to Kai's house and Beomgyu led Taehyun inside. The others had found out about it only a few hours after it happened, but they weren't able to come visit much. Now they were staying with one of their friends, as much as Beomgyu just wanted them to be alone for a while.
It seemed like being alone around someone he loved could help Taehyun, but Beomgyu was grateful Kai was offering a safe place for them to sleep.
"It's mainly just me and my sisters here," he said after letting the two of them in. "My dad does acting abroad and my mom works a lot. I'll show you to the guest room."
Beomgyu led the weak boy up the stairs, looking around at the cozy guest room and the soft looking bed. "Thank you," Beomgyu said, hugging Kai. "It's perfect."
"Don't worry about it. Tell me if you need anything."
He left and Beomgyu smiled when he heard the door click shut. Walking forward, he gently grabbed Taehyun's wrist and brought it up to his lips to kiss the tips of his fingers.
"I love you," he whispered, burying his face into the crook of Taehyun's neck.
Wherever Taehyun's mind was, whatever was changing him, for better or for worse, couldn't keep him from muttering a quiet "I love you" in return.
