*The next day*

"Wow," Beomgyu said in awe, looking around at the apartment Taehyun got. Two bedrooms and a bathroom. It was simple just like Taehyun liked, and Beomgyu was in awe of the place.

"You like it?" Taehyun asked. "I've been working a lot lately to be able to afford it for us."

Beomgyu turned to look at him and frowned. "Don't overwork yourself." He set down the box he was holding. "I should be working too."

"No, you should be focusing on school," Taehyun said, going past him to put the box that contained an air mattress in their room.

"What about you?" Beomgyu scoffed and followed him. "You actually have dreams. I don't know what I wanna do in the future yet."

"Well, mine is basically ruined, so..." Taehyun looked overwhelmed at the moment and just laughed a little bit. "It's ruined like everything else in my life. No use trying to fix it, right? I got into one fight with that asshole when I should've listened to what the principal said. One more fight and I could kiss college goodbye."

Beomgyu's eyes widened. "SNU changed their mind?" Taehyun nodded. "And you didn't think to tell me?"

"Why should I have? It's my life."

"But these are... big changes, and if we're in a commited relationship, then I think I have a right to know about these changes. You're being the asshole right now Taehyun. I didn't do anything to you besides try to be your caring boyfriend."

"You know what I go through," Taehyun said calmly. "So I'm sorry if I seem to be irritated sometimes. I thought you would be used to that by now."

He left. He just grabbed the key for his bike and left.

Beomgyu was frustrated and overwhelmed by everything, that only being made worse by the fact that when he pulled out his phone to see who was calling him, it was Nari.

"Hello?" He asked, wiping the tears from his eyes.

"I need to show you something. Can you come to the address I'm gonna send you? Alone?"

"Y-yeah," he said in confusion. When she hung up, he looked at the address and realized it was a coffee shop downtown.

When Beomgyu got to the shop, he spotted Nari sitting at a table with another woman and walked over. "Hey," he said, sitting down.

"Hey Beomgyu. Beomgyu, this is Hwayoung. Hwayoung, this is Beomgyu."

Beomgyu shook her hand and oh my God this girl looked even more like Taehyun. "Nice to meet you," he whispered nervously.

"I'm..." Hwayoung stopped cautiously. "Are you treating my son well?"

What?

Beomgyu looked back and forth between them a few times. "What do you mean? I'm pretty sure you have the wrong person."

"Beomgyu-"

"No," he cut Nari off. "I don't know who you are, but Taehyun's mother died nineteen years ago."

"No she didn't," Nari said. "Taehyun's father wanted him to believe that so he wouldn't go looking for her. She was put in a mental institution after she gave birth to Taehyun."

Beomgyu looked at Hwayoung cautiously before reaching forward and placing his hand on her cheek. She looked so much like him. She was beautiful, and Beomgyu felt his lips quivering.

"You're his mom?"

She looked broken just like him. Maybe it was for the same reason. Maybe they've both been abused to an inch of their life by someone who should've loved them.

"Please tell me you take care of him," she said, looking up at him with the same big brown eyes that Beomgyu sees in Taehyun all the time.

"I think I do," he said. "I love him."

"Does he know that?"

"I think so." He sighed. "We fought earlier, but I don't really think it was my fault."

She nodded and stood up. "I wanna see him now."

"Are your sure?" Nari asked. "This is a big deal."

"Yes, I'm sure," she insisted. "I need to see him."

"He's going through a lot right now," Beomgyu said as both of them started grabbing their things. "I think he needs you now more than he ever has."

He pulled out his phone to continuously call and text Taehyun while he drove the three of them to Kai's house, fear washing over him when he didn't get any answer back.

"Have you heard from Taehyun?" He asked, entering the house after the door was opened. "We had a fight earlier and he left. I'm really worried about him."

Soobin and Yeonjun were also there, he realized, when Soobin walked over with his phone. "He texted me saying he's at school."

"How did he get inside?" Kai asked.

They continued speculating and Beomgyu left again to go to the school. "Do you know what he's doing there?" Nari asked.

"No, and I'm not excited to find out why."

He was so fucking scared.
