Kelly Clarkson- Because of You
I sat up looking around to find that it's dark outside already. I pulled my jacket back to check my wound. Isaac and I smiled to find that it's completely gone. I looked back to see Scott and Allison talking. He looks fine now. I can feel the warmth coming from him in my chest along with the ache I doubt is really ever going to go away. My eyes went up to the front when the bus pulled into what looks like a Motel. Everyone began to get out as soon as the doors opened. Scott handed me my duffle bag when he caught up. I took it and followed him out.
"I've seen worse," Scott told Stiles. He looked at him sideways.
"Where have you seen worse?" he asked.
Coach blew the whistle again. I coughed feeling a tightness in my throat. Probably from the crying or being strangled, maybe getting my throat used as a yucky claw polisher.
"Listen up, the meets been pushed until tomorrow. This is the closest Motel with the most vacancies and the least amount of good judgment when it comes to accepting a bunch of degenerates like yourselves. You'll be paring up. Choose wisely,"
"Hey, want to be roommates?" Ashely asked coming over to me. I smiled at her nodded.
"And I'll have no sexual perversions perpetrated by you little deviants. Got that? Keep your dirty little hands to your dirty little selves!" he continued. Ashley took the key from him and motioned me to follow. Scott showed me his key number. So did Isaac. I nodded letting them know I got it.
"Are you okay?" Ashley asked pointing at my side. I looked down to see the bloodstain. She came over to me worriedly. I lifted my shirt to show her there's nothing there.
"Yeah, Isaac's pen broke,"
"Wow, that is so annoying," she laughed.
"Right," I smiled.
"I don't mean to ask but aren't you with Taylor?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "Are you asking because of Isaac?"
"You don't have to explain-"
"Isaac and I grew up together. He's been my best friend since we were in second grade. With his brother and his dad gone, I'm kind of all he has left,"
"Oh, my god," she sat down. "I kind of forgot about that with everything happening,"
"How are you doing?" I asked sitting down at the edge of the bed. "I've been meaning to ask but I'm not very good at timing things to deem them appropriate or not,"
"You timed this one just fine," she smiled sadly. "We had plans, you know? I feel like we were stripped of everything,"
"I had just spoken to him right before he went missing. We were going to play cod later that night," I nodded.
"He told me you are really good. Taylor's really turned a leaf since you guys started dating,"
"Honestly, I feel like he might be a better influence on me than I am on him," we both chuckled.
"I have a hard time believing that. You're so smart and dedicated. My mom sometimes compares me to you. Your mom talks a lot about you and Scott. They work together at the hospital,"
"Oh, that's fucking terrible. I hate when my mom does that. She's compared me to Lydia,"
"Oh no," she laughed.
"Uh, I kind of need a quick shower and to call my mom. Do you mind?"
"Of course, not," she shook her head. "I'll see what's on TV," I nodded grabbing my duffle bag and a couple of towels. "I should call my mom too,"
